Complete Gum and Dental Care Center

Here’s my recent experience with a supposed top dentist in Pune @ Complete Gum and Health care and @ Battisi with Dr Ankit Khanna at their office in Koregaon Park and would like to caution my friends in Pune.

Dr Khanna was recommended to me by a friend and I had visited his clinic last year for scaling and hence felt comfortable approaching him. He had recommended I make a Night Guard on my next visit as I tend to grind my teeth in the night.

So I was there to get a night guard made . And These were his /and his wife Ruchira Beri Khanna’s recommendations ( he sent in his wife to tell me all that they proposed and the costs associated.

6 root canals
3 posts to secure the supposed fractures in my teeth
6 crowns to secure the teeth from breakage
2 night Guards 😇 ( both for upper as well as lower jaw)

Do remember I had ABSOLUTELY no complaints with my teeth before the procedure. But I was urged to start right away as the entire procedure would need 4-5 sittings and I was on a very short visit. So I agreed and we began.

Just before he started the procedure , he asked

Dr Ankit Khanna : Do you have any problem with your teeth ?
Me : None at all

And he started his procedure quickly before I changed my mind

At the end of the day, I had undergone root canal procedures in 6 front teeth and he rushed away without prescribing antibiotics or painkillers. I had to text him subsequently to get the painkiller prescription.

After having paid a princely sum, I reached home and then actually started questioning myself on the need to undergo the procedure as it all seemed too sudden . I spoke to more than a few friends ,including dentist friends who are prosthodontics specialists and their first question on hearing my experience was .... Was there a problem with your teeth to begin with to which the answer was, of course, No.

And so I now have 6 teeth drilled and root canal done on and hence weakened by the procedure .

My learning and advice to you is :

Always take a second opinion , as far as possible. And don’t be coerced into making a hasty decision..... ever !!

And most of all BEWARE of Dr Khanna who talks about ethics but failed to display it.
