Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir

The Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir in Budhwar Peth is a 175-year-old library. The building was constructed on 7 February 1848. In the library's second floor, you will find a large collection of Marathi books. There is a reading room on the first floor with English, Hindi, and Marathi newspapers available daily along with a wide selection of magazines. There is a membership fee of ₹30/- per month, and this is an excellent place for book lovers to hang out.

Dominantly located in the heart of the city, very old and cheapest public library out there. Just like normal other libraries, this is also always quite. Together more than 50 weekly/monthly magazines available for affordable subscription fee. And the chairs attracts me a lot as they are really old styled and comfortable.

This library has huge collection of marathi novels and magazines. Situated in heart of city near dagdushet ganpati. Library is spacious and ambience is pleasant. Staff is friendly. Management is well. There are three types of memberships available. I enrolled for 3rd type. Fees was 500 total ( 400 rs deposit , which is refundable. 90 rs 3 months charge, 10 rs membership fees). Altogether was nice experience to have membership of this library.

Laxmi Road branch has huge collection of Marathi books and Shivalay Branch in Sadashiv Peth near Bharat Natya Mandir has English books. They are charging membership at a very nominal rate. They also provide home delivery facility for readers.
