Discovering this authentic South Indian restaurant near JM Road was a true delight! It's the ideal spot for a scrumptious breakfast, boasting specialties like Paper Dosa, Wada with flavorful Sambhar dip, Uttapa, and Idli with tangy Rassam. However, what truly stole my heart was their special South Indian Sambhar and freshly prepared Coconut Chutney – simply divine! While the food alone is worth the visit, do keep in mind that parking might be a bit tricky, especially on weekends. Nonetheless, the overall experience is definitely worth it, offering a taste of authentic South Indian flavors in a cozy setting near JM Road.

I came here after 20 years. The taste is still the same and awesome. Highly recommended for South Indian food.

Visited this iconic place to have pav bhaji, masala pav along with coffee. Pav bhaji was very tasty unlike other hotels where they mix dal in bhaji. Here, bhaji was made up of vegetables only. Also, masala pav was flavourful. Pav served with pav bhaji was very soft loaded with butter. Coffee is a must try here. Typical south Indian coffee you will get here. Service was bit slow considering that the place is always crowded. Overall, must visit place for a vegetarian.

Very reasonable price for impeccable taste.
Modern spl. dosa is a must try along with their iconic filter coffee. And this place crowds up quickly especially on weekends.

One of my all time fev restaurants in the Pune city area.
It’s been more than 2 decades now and still the quality, taste, service and vibe is consistent.

I'm the biggest fan of this place.

Must try cassata sundae one of my favorite dessert.

And also it is famous for south Indian dishes like dosa, idli and all.... Prices are also affordable.

I had one the biggest dosa in my life here.

Everytime I visit here experience is awsome.

Don't worry about ur vehicle also, they've their separate area for parking...

Visit once to have good time with ur buddies.

The place is very nice and the atmosphere is good. The service was really fast within 10-15 mins and the food quality and taste were very nice. The food I ate was worth the price which is not even that high

Recently I visited modern cafe. I ate Paper masala dosa & medu vada with filter coffee. Food was amazing overall.

Modern Cafe has a good standard for its service, staff, and food quality. It's not wrong for me to say that it's one of the best restaurants at affordable cost. I like its South Indian food quality, and the sambar is just perfect!!! I have been to a few more expensive restaurants, and in my opinion, Modern Cafe beat them with it's food quality and service. It is the first restaurant that actually gave proper handwash to wash your hands. I will definitely visit them again when the opportunity arises.

Had lunch with a team of four. Very economical place to eat good food. Excellent value for money.

Nice and excellent at Shivajinagar. Very old and best hotel of Pune. So that Indian food and vegetarian food available here. Food quality is awesome taste.

One of the best place on pune to have delicious and royal south Indian foods. South Indian food lovers must visit this place if they reside in Pune. Very tasty food is available here and I just remembered my graduation days when I visited for a brunch to this place. It serves the same quality and tasty food which is available in Mangalore.

For the price the taste is not bad, the vibes are there,the service is definitely faster,just the tables are a bit small,but thats a minor inconvenience.
