Odaipatti Vanni Vinayagar temple is a must stop when travelling between Tirunelveli and Madurai. Its closer to Sattur. Its not easy to spot now, since the new highway bypasses it. Few years back the temple was very much crowded but after the four way road has been laid the temple stands isolated.the temple must be more than four hundred years old. 400 years ago odaipatti and near by places suffered a heavy draught and during that period there came a sithar named Annamalai Chettiar who worshipped lord Vinayagar under the Vanni tree and the pond near by the temple was cleaned by him with the help of the villagers and soon rain poured out and the area again became fertile. Daily pujas are done in this temple and during Vinayaga chathurthi thousands of people visit the temple. The Vanni Vinayagar is so powerful and every one believes the lord fulfill the prayers of the devotees..

Lord Vinayagar blesses his devotees from the shades of VANNI tree. People travelling on the national highway stop by for the blessings of Vinayagar for their safe journey.
