Kottur Gurusamy Sidhar temple

Situated very near to ramco cement factory. On the highway from virudhunagar to sattur there is a cutting to kottur. There are many small hindu temples around this place . One such place is this, . It is said that a saint or siddhar went into jeeva samadhi ( ie. Going to ethereal world in this human body) . In his human form he was called gurusamy,hence the name gurusamy siddhar temple. There is a sivan statue which he worshipped. Ver powerful and believed to heal many illnesses which medication can't cure. God bless the devotees

It is a siddhar temple named Gurusamy Siddhar, his Samaadhi (In yoga this is regarded as the final stage, at which union with the divine is reached (before or at death) and it is worshipped as Temple here.
Mostly the people are praying this god for all type of illness including cyst, when it recovers then they are offering pongal to this god also offering their hair (tonsure).

Power sidhar temple. Very organized system for Mottai and plenty of shops for getting shower. Parking charges for car is around 40 which seems bit costly for the remote place. Not much crowded on week days.

If you goes the temple buy the all Pooja thinks there is all the thinks are very high .
But one shop is there very nice vada is 2rupee only please try that vada it's really amazing and good taste

A devotee of Shiva is a Siddhar who has attained Jiva Samadhi at this place, if we once go to this temple our skin diesease and pregnancy problem will be clear. Near by village people's are putting in their baby's name was GURUSAMY, GURUVAMMAL

Very peaceful place. Everyone must carry coconuts at different place to avoid paying excess. One coconut, 2 bananas, agharpathi and champar together sold at 80INR

We visited the temple and jeeva samathi at 8 pm .Daily at 8 pm Pooja is there .closing time is around 9 pm.only 2-3 devotees were there .we can finish the dharshan soon.only negative thing is oil outside temple is being sold at higher price

People around this place will call this temple a powerful temple.
People with cyst, tumors will be asked to visit this temple and worship and I heard lot of them saying, visiting this place gives relief from medical issues.
We can plan and visit this temple and irukankudi Mariamman temple.

Kottur gurusamy siddar temple is reachable from Virudhunagar through local town buses. Its just walkable distance from kottur bus stop.
There is paid bathroom and toilets available nearby temple with cheap rates.

But pooja items are very costly, coconut with oil bottels for pooja kit costs you Rs.200. you have to put one oil bottle in temple for deepam. And another oil bottle will give to you as a prasad for your problems.

The temple is maintained by grandsons of gurusamy, they are very helpful nature. There's no HUNDI at all in temple. Just you have to put your minimal offerings in pooja plate only.

There's daily pooja in 12.30pm and 8.00 pm.

But staffs in temple are money minded. They are eager to get money from devotees. Be careful in those type of staffs.

I often visit here..if i visit here i found peace.i like this place very much.nd also i eat vadai there .that also too good.that price is 2₹ only..i eat 5 for 10₹ tasty one..try once okay?..good to eat.u must like.this god name my parents put to me .we will go there our whole family only.

Good place, but local people asked more money for oil, asked for car parking charges Rs 40/- even car parked on road. Local people misusing him

A divine experience. It is a Jeeva Samadhi and non idolatry based worshipping, no idol in the temple and worshiping the light form of god.
