Nutmeg Valley

I spent a week at Nutmeg Valley Farm Stay. The owner, Matthew, has built a lovely and peaceful location. The area is quiet and clean. Service was prompt and there was a variety of food to order. The staff is very friendly. The owner can help arrange transport to nearby attractions. There is a vast number of trees and plants on the grounds and an opportunity to try different fresh fruits. The property is in the mountains so if you get car sick from winding roads, take caution. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful & peaceful place. We spent most of the time inside the resort because it is very vast space and there are water falls, boating & river inside the resort itself, so what else you need. The host Matthew & all other people in the resort were very friendly and he gave us bunch of fruits when we check out. Food was really good and price for stay is also affordable. I highly suggest this place if you want to spend peaceful vacation & if you are a nature lover. Thank you Mathew sir for such a great hospitality, we are looking to visit your stay again & again 💚

Very good stay at this place. Matthew has been a really great host, introduced us to all fruits and plantations around his place, provided us really good food, and helped us to get some taxis for diverse activities we could do around. Highly recommended!

Our stay in Nutmeg Valley was great ! The owner really cared about our well being. He is passionnate about his farm, and shared this passion with us. I discovered so many plants, fruits.... it was wonderful. Thank you so much 🙏🤩

Fantastic location. Great views of the valley. You can feel a slight chill in the air as you approach the Nutmeg Valley!
Managed & Maintained by Sri. Mathew (The Owner himself), a Senior Citizen, you get to see a well furnished cottages, ponds, etc
not overly priced.
One may say, it's a one stop family get away.

Excellent property. Best getaway destination at idukki. The property is surprisingly calm, lush green, and very beautiful. Highly recommended with family and friends to have fun joy and relax.

We enjoyed a four night stay. Due to the time of year, the pool and boating were not available which was initially a disappointment, but in fact there was plenty to see and do. The hosts were very nice, especially with our kids. They showed us round the farm and we learned about lots of spices and fruits. We took a couple of day trips by taxi which were great, and we took a hike up to a local viewpoint. There was a well-equipped games room above the apartment and the rooms were large and spotless. We enjoyed the food, especially trying all the different breakfast options and the freshly prepared fruit. A great place to get away from it all.

I usually don't post reviews..,but this property is too good to make an exception.. really loved staying in the plantations and the amenities they provide really is worth it 👌

I have been to Kerala for the first time and the experience was so good because the resort which we choosed was near by for all the beautiful places. I really appreciate nutmeg valley staff for taking care us very nicely and for the good food.. such a good place to stay. Even they suggested some of the places to visit. Rooms were so spacious and clean. I will visit again for sure.

It's an awesome resort they have a stream that flows through the property. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

Beautifully located away from any sort of hustle-bustle and completely amidst nature, this place is a natures lover's delight. The cottages are minimalistic but are tastefully designed with all the required amenities to keep one comfortable. The icing on the cake is the owner Mr. Matthew - it was an absolute delight having great conversations with him sharing his experiences.

If I have to nitpick on the negatives, the food has some room for improvement - both in terms of expanding the menu and in terms of improving the quality. I'm sure these will be done in due course of time, considering how passionate the owner is towards hospitality.

Looking forward to visit again in the future!

Being a seasoned international traveler himself, Mathew, the owner of the Nutmeg Valley farm, is a super lovely and competent host. He goes to extremes to help his guests having a great time in the area, including food, shuttle services, massages, yoga classes, SIM cards - and of course extended tours across the property, explaining all the different botanical treasures.

There are different chalets, a villa and even a tree-house available for accommodation: We stayed in the estate's main villa and each of us had a single room for ourselves, with our own balcony, bathroom, spacious shower, toilet, AC, TV, fridge, huge double beds, panoramic-windows and a shared living space.

The design and the materials are only of premium quality and easily match European standards: Finest tile, beautiful marble, exquisite wood.

The place was super clean and comfortable. And fortunately, despite sleeping with our balcony doors open to enjoy the beautiful clean and rich air, there were hardly any bugs in the rooms.

The Nutmeg Valley eatate offers the perfect retreat from overcrowded places, the road, noise and stress. The parc-like place invites to full immersion into nature - be it by meditating 🧘‍♂ to the sound of the small river or just walking and sitting around.
Or... by checking out where all the different products of the farm are growing: jackfruit, papaya, passion fruit, coffee, cacao, pepper, cardamom, turmeric, starfruit, coconut, pineapple 🍍, giant granadilla, clove, just to name a few...

Its an amazing place to enjoy with your family and friends. You name it and you have it in this resort - good food, courteous staff, amazing natural waterflow inside the resort, the serene nature view. A must visit place who wants to enjoy and have a peaceful time :)

Our entire Kerala trip was made extra special because of our trip to Nutmeg Valley.
Right from the time we entered the place till the end we got excellent treatment. Mr Matthew was so very kind and made us feel at home. He spent time with us everyday giving us tips about the place , having his staff cook us absolutely delicious meals, taking time to show us around the entire property. Giving the children information on various plants that were grown at the property and seeing to it that they had a good time.
The place is beautiful. It has really spacious rooms. Very clean! The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.
The caretakers/ cooks are really nice . Food cooked was delicious.
The property is huge with so much to do. We had a great time relaxing in the river that runs through the property. The children had so much to do. There's an entire space with indoor games like chess carrom tabletennis fooseball etc. There's an outdoor area with games like basketball badminton n football and a children's park.
We definitely are going back and would recommend this placr to anyone travelling to kerala.

Nutmeg valley is a great place for people who want to spend their time in a beautiful farm, watching those trees, walking around the farm, enjoying a ride on the water, having fun time on the waterfalls, just go without any expectations, you will enjoy your stay. Good spots throughout the farm for clicking photos,Hospitality is very good, Right from booking, the owner Mr.Mathew was kind enough patiently answering all my queries, checking with us on the day before our arrival, checking with us after we reached railway station, arranging food on time, it was great, we feel like we have stayed on our relatives home, Had a good conversation with him. And the care taker Mr. Ravi and his wife always taken care of food and everything with a smiling face. Even though we are comfortable with English they were good conversing in Tamil, hence language will not be a problem for people travelling from Tamilnadu. Provided very tasty home made food during our stay. Definitely recommend Nutmeg valley to my friends and family. Looking forward to visit again. My heartfelt thanks to Mr. Mathew sir and Ravi sir. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over there

It was excellent experience we had during our visit to the resort. The owner Mr Mathew took care of us by himself and Hospitality was so good. We were so close to the nature and enjoyed the ambiance.

With a private waterfall , Deep pool, and Trekking it was really one of a kind experience. The owner stays at the property and he is an amazing host.

The place is good for groups and families.If you are planning a trip to the hills , don't miss this beautiful place

5 reasons to visit this place:

- Wonderfully spaced cottages without feeling claustrophobic at all.

- bbq facility is top notch.

- Indoor games (TT, Foosball etc), badminton and football spaces gave the much needed break from the usual monotonous nature of the resort.

- The stream inside the premises was a great. A great place to chill out after the nightfall.

- Staff is quite friendly.

Calm, quiet and peaceful.... Best if you are looking for a peaceful weekend. Clean and well maintained rooms. An exciting pool created from natural water stream. Even safe for kids. My kids loved the stay and were not willing to return.
