Papu Dhaba

We were travelling from Kalpa to shimla at 7am in the morning, our car got punctured at this spot & out of nowhere we arrived at this dhaba. Uncle at dhaba serves the best Paratha & rajma thali for breakfast. Hot parathas in chilly weather felt heaven to us. Hospitality of uncle was best, it was 5 star. He was so polite, even we were full after having paratha. But, with full love he kept offering us more with a great smile on face as we were struck.

The chilly atmosphere, happy vibes, yummy food & happy, cheering hospitality of uncle made our morning indeed best.

Excellent quality of hot & fresh foods are available here. Service quality is so polite and attentive that may be teachable for professionally managed waiters also. The atmosphere is not as well decorated as the restaurant or cafe but good for all types of customers due to their polite behavior.
Free road parking is there. Overall their food is delicious and fresh with a nice hospitality. Thai is unbeatable.

I was stuck in Tapri on my way to Spiti. This dhaba is run by a lot of hardworking people. Food is tasty and fulfilling. Prices are very reasonable. Most importantly they treat you respectfully and are always willing to help.

For breakfast the only option was Aloo Parantha but they prepared omelette upon request. For dinner vegetarian thali with rajma, kadi, rice and chapati was available.

Must try location for having a home cooked thali when you are on this route. The host is a great person and very welcoming. Apart from thali you can get egg omlet or boiled egg. The thali contains dal,rice,chapati,rajma,kadi, vegetables preparation and pickle. Its a unlimited thali so you can have what you like
The rajma preparation is simple yet very tasty. The board on the shop is mentioned as Pappy Dhaba though in google you find it as Papu Dhaba.

Road side dhaba in Tapri town market. Unlimited thali, freshly made super tasty dal, rajma, kaadi, channa, mattar sabzi, mixed sabzi, phulka and rice. Super fast service by ever smiling people. Pappuji treats everyone like his family friends. Great experience, must visit if you are passing through this road.

I had lunch twice 1st in 2016 & 2nd 2022, only one thing was common the taste & service of food. Items was not that of a hotel or restaurant menu, but the desi food that we had was extremely delicious with decent price.
If you are travelling to Chitkul Village Or Spiti circuit, I will highly recommend to have lunch from Papu Dhaba.

Very small restaurant. But the food quality & quantity are the best.. excellent rice, roti, daal, variety sabji so so 😋 tasty..and the best thing is you can eat as much as you can.

This is place good for lunch if you are passing nearby. When driver stopped, I was not comfortable getting down by looks of it. Once hot food came it was yummy. Owner only serves the food. Rajma, bhindi was very good. It costs 100 rs for thali.

Very Tasty/Simple food. Who loves simple and Raw Taste in their food they must try here.

This place reminds you of the warm home cooked meals made with sheer love. I stumbled upon this place on route to Sangla. They have an unlimited veg thali system which I opted for and it was sumptuous to say the least. The thali comsisted of unlimited Dal, rice, roti, sabzi, rajma. The staff and the owner make it a point to ensure you feel comfortable and eat wholeheartedly. The service is prompt and simple food will make sure you leave this place with a smile.

He can prepare decent jain food on request. Pure veg place. Owner is very kind, pyaar se khilaata hai logo ko. Jains looking for food on the road, ask him for paneer matar sabji, which he will make nice. On the road to spiti, you are unlikely to find many pure veg places after this stop until nako.

What a place! You'll be more than happy to reach here. We stopped here on our way to Spiti for lunch. We were delighted. Everything was just awesome! It was so pleasing. Home away from home.
We liked it so much that we stopped on our way back to Manali for breakfast.
The guys who run this are extremely professional and in time. Owner is gem of a person. Pappu ji will come to your table, serve you and check if everything is alright.

You will miss this small open seating dhaba with earthen painted furniture. You might even miss the whole town Tapri enroute Karcham. But mark it on your map and stop by for lunch. My Driver introduced me to this place. Pappu bhai and family running the dhaba, serves you with love, vigilantly watching if the plate needs refilling. The food is very basic: Kadi, Rajma and Sabji, with the staple roti and rice UNLIMITED! Everything is freshly cooked and delicious. Beats any fancy food and shiny restaurant hands down. The owner's son asked everyone, how was the food and we were so stomachful that expressions spoke it all.

We came to this town from Kaza via Reckong Peo late in the evening on a rainy day. I was wet, shivering and tired from riding all day. Sanjay, a kind young man who owns an electronic shop in Tapri arranged me a room at Jita Homestay owned by Ashok Kumar. Had dinner at this dhaba. It was the most delicious meal that I had in Himachal.
