This serves as the main transport facility to almost more than 14,000 people on weekly basis according to the recent surveys ....

Very clean place. At least when compared to many other bus stands out there in Karnataka. And surprisingly there was somebody available in the help desk to clear your doubts and help you with the bus timings and platforms. Although most of the shops around were closed well, may be because it was almost past 2 am when I was there. A mediocre place with a better ambience than most other bus stands that I have been ever.

Good bus facilities are available now, karwara bus available between morning 8:30 to 9:00

I and my friend went to Kodachadri from Hyderabad via Bangaluru with BMC group (during 2017 mansoons). On return we did not want to go all the way back to Bangaluru and booked a KSRTC sleeper from Shivmogga/Shimoga to Hyderabad. The bus was in the evening and we reached Shivmogga some 8hrs before. We had apprehensions on where to wait the day out. The bus-stand was a pleasant surprise. There was big-bazaar in mall above the bus-stand- where we could buy slippers to get out of wet trekking shoes, aramane - a nice hygienic restaurant with helpful staff, Cloak-room - where we safely deposited our rather heavy back-packs. Zoo with tiger & lion safari, elephant camp, dam on tunga river were nearby places to go by auto and there were nice and worth the visit. Washroom and waiting areas of the bus-stand were reasonably clean. The bus bays were organized with proper boards displaying time and destinations.
I would thank locals and local administration for professionally maintaining the place.
