The Malayalapuzha temple has now become a temple for the rich persons only.
Here is a view to change the ambience and belief into some sort of merchandise (only for money).
Heavily raised the price of all items.

Atmosphere and ambience of the temple is very good.
Well parking area.

One of the most prominent temple in Pathanamthitta. A very prominent bhadrakali temple in kerala. Temple is moderately packed on weekdays, mainly Tuesdays and Fridays as these days are said to be important or good days to visit devi temples. Sundays are also packed because of being a holiday. temple opens by 5am in morning and remains open up until 12:00. In the evening , temple opens by 5pm and closes by 8pm. I prefer to go in evening mainly between 5:00-7:00 as it will be mostly less packed and i always feel more relaxed during this time.

celebrated in a grand manner. Tuesdays and Fridays are important days in all Devi temples. The heavy rush on those days can make you wait for darshan (viewing). The annual festival of Malayalapuzha Devi Temple starts on the day of the star Thiruvathira in Kumbham (February–March). Aarattu (dipping the deity in the temple tank or river) is performed on the eleventh day.

Offerings include Thoniyari Payasam (sweet rice), Ney Vilakku (lighting of ghee lamps), Nirapara (offering of rice, paddy and sugar to the brim of the measuring vessel called para). Ablutions are done with white ash, sandal, oil, milk, ghee and tender coconut water too.

The location is really nice as the temple is situated at an altitude as compared to the town centre. This temple is located around 7Km from Pathanamthitta town centre along the Kumbazha - Malayalappuzha road. The last couple of kilometres are winding uphill roads and that makes the drive exciting.

The temple has a dedicated parking lot, but on Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays and public holidays, you'll very likely be waiting in the queue to try and find a suitable space. The temple is very powerful and praying there with utmost sincerity and devotion, Amma will surely hear your prayers. There are 2 queues to enter the sanctum sanctorum. They both move quickly and you won't have to wait too long to get darsham of Amma. The idol is simply beautiful. I really felt Amma was looking straight into me and through me. I seriously didn't get enough of the darshan. If possible, I'll definitely come here again to seek Amma's blessings.

Devi Temple. People who believe in Devi rituals should definitely visit this temple. Very powerful and beautiful goddess. In about 15 minutes walkable distance from this temple you can also visit moolasthana. It is believed that Devi’s first presence was seen in here and later prathistapana was done to Malayalapuzha. Kozhi Bali, pattu pudava with paaku, Manjadi offerings are popular offerings here. These offerings are easily available at temple premise. Car/bike parking and restaurant facility is okay. Bus services to this route is also available. Fridays and Tuesdays are crowded. A clothing tip - Devi loves red clothing. Like any other temple in Kerala, men have to remove their shirt while entering the temple. Hope you all have a great experience visiting the temple. Amme Narayana🙏
