Constructed 1981-2003. Dedicated to the struggles of the Balinese people.
There are 17 steps leading to the main gate, 8 pillars inside and the monument is 45 meters tall, which represents Indonesia's Independence Day on 08/17/1945.
You should be able to take awesome pictures from all sides: I suggest a camera over a phone.

I’m so glad I visited this monument dedicated to the past struggles of the Balinese. It’s a very beautiful monument with lovely grounds & a magnificent view from the top. The inside houses a museum with diorama of past wars and the resilience of the Balinese. All in all a very enjoyable experience with very few people.

The monument has incredibly beautiful architecture. And not only that, internally there is an illustrative museum about the history of struggle, resistance to colonization and independence of Indonesia. It's worth being seen and known. Contradictions in current discourses receive context in this museum.

Bajra Sandhi left me speechless. The little structure is magnificent. There was almost nobody when I visited, in the middle of the afternoon. I paid the entrance 50k. You can roam around and take as many pictures as needed. There is a little museum inside about the colonized past of Indonesia, with a few pictures and some dioramas which are pretty impressive. There is also some art in the main place. It's a relaxing place for culture lovers. You also have a nice view up there through the windows.

A beautiful monument in tribute to a beautiful people.
During my recent visit to Denpasar, I had the privilege to visit the Bajra Sandhi Monument, an iconic landmark that stands as a silent witness to the rich history and cultural tapestry of Indonesia.

As I approached the monument, I was struck by its grandeur and architectural brilliance. The monument, with its towering structure and intricate Balinese design, serves as a proud reminder of Bali's struggle for independence. Its imposing edifice commands respect and reflects the resilience and spirit of the Balinese people.

The monument is nestled amidst a lush and well-maintained garden, offering a serene and peaceful environment to ponder upon the historical narratives that it embodies. Inside, the museum offers an enlightening journey through various phases of Balinese history, depicted through a series of dioramas that are both detailed and captivating. The galleries are well-curated, providing a seamless blend of education and visual appeal.

Visitors also have the opportunity to ascend to the top of the monument, where they are greeted with a panoramic view of Denpasar. This vantage point offers a picturesque glimpse of the city's evolving skyline, set against the backdrop of the majestic Mount Agung. It is a sight that captures the harmonious blend of the old and the new, a testimony to Bali's continuous growth and development.

But what truly sets Bajra Sandhi Monument apart is its role as a space of reflection, where one can pause and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who fought for Bali's freedom. It is a place that evokes a deep sense of pride and reverence, making it a must-visit for anyone keen on understanding the spirit of Bali.

The Bajra Sandhi Monument in Renon Square, Puputan, South Denpasar is a monument that can also be called a museum, containing photos and dioramas commemorating the struggle of the Balinese people against the invaders, as well as the history of Balinese life since the hunting era of 3000 BC. This monument is surrounded by several fields, and the separation between the fields is usually used for walking, jogging in the morning or evening, apart from walking along the beach.

Good place to jogging/run and walk here if you visit early in the morning or in the evening. Also, to take wedding photos. Scenery is good

A very nice monument, the museum inside tells you about the history of Bali and the Balinese fight for independence. The architecture inside and outside looks amazing. There is a spiral staircase that leads you to the top with a view of the surroundings. Around the monument, there is a huge field for jogging, playing, hanging out, and many street vendors. Needs a little bit of upkeep for the diorama, but definitely recommend.

Really epic place in Denpasar. Didn’t go in but I enjoyed my morning jogs around the park while I was staying in the area. I got to ride my bike around at night. It felt pretty safe. Someone was doing a mini photo shoot. There were couples and families there. Really good vibes at this spot.

Beautiful historical monument, located neatly on the center of Renon area, it is fun educational and also great sight from above. There's a 3D museum on the side with different entrance fee ticket, unfortunately they are doing AC maintenance on the day of my visit.

The monument is absolutely huge and amazing! We loved it! You can walk around in the beautiful garden and inside the monument, and there's even an indoor water fountain with a spiral staircase in the middle where you can go up and see the history exhibition about Bali. Wonderful architecture with tragic history. Highly recommend to see!

Museum Bajra Sandhi, it's a good place to know the history of Bali. I visited it again in the late afternoon, when there was a bazaar around there.

Beautiful monument to the revolution against occupying Dutch colonialists. The diorama is particularly helpful in understanding the history of Bali pre, during, and post occupation. The building itself, made from volcanic rock, is striking and clearly built to last for ages.

Locals seem slightly unimpressed by this and I had been told by multiple people that it isn’t worth the visit from Canggu. We had a lovely time!

The monument is quite impressive and set in the grounds of a large park which was totally empty on a Saturday at around 1pm. When we drove past later on it was so busy with locals though!

The monument is home to a huge diorama telling the history of Bali which we found really interesting and a viewing platform.
