Grand Hotel Glorius

This is my second time at this hotel and I will be happy to come back again. Of course, we come for the Mako spa, and in terms of accommodation, the Grand Glorius is the best option for accommodation. First of all, the hotel is in a wonderful art deco style, with impeccable service and very friendly staff. The real hit is champagne for breakfast. The food is excellent, with a large selection for everyone. I would especially like to praise Mr. Daniel, who provided us with a kettle in the room, for morning tea and coffee, and who also knew our language. All recommendations for this nice little hotel.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at your hotel. The service was excellent, and we would especially like to commend Andrea and Daniel at the reception who accommodated all our requests. The hotel is impeccably clean, the location is excellent, and the food is very good. The only suggestion we would make for improvement is that the names of the dishes are not always written in English (for example, we mistook savory pâté for chocolate mousse as it was placed next to the dessert). We don't know if it's possible to change this. One drawback is the smell of food in the hotel lobby as soon as you enter. It spoils the first impression, and it would be a shame not to address it with better ventilation or airing. Everything else is truly top-notch.

We travel around to try different Hotels and SPA's. This time we chosen this hotel. The Hotel is in a old renovated building with stunning architecture. It has also a restaurant, which is open to the public as well for a nice meal from the menu. The hotel itself has a wellness facility, they have two saunas and a hot tub. View from one of the saunas is to the Thermal bath on the oposite site of the road, the Hagymatikum Thermal. The visitors of this hotel can also find in the hotel's spa section some basic gym equipment as well. I would maybe recomment to the hotel to put some extra towels and sheets to theire SPA for the guests to use in these permises, especially for the sauna users. Services in the Hotel were great, the staff was always smiley and verry friendly. On the 4th floor is a roof terrace with a stunning view around the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the hotel any time. The food was great and tasty, we had a chance to have a food from the menu as well for a lunch after we checked out. Portions were big and the food amazingly tasty! Thank you for your services and looking forward to stay there again in the future.

We had a short visit in Makó with my mum and we stayed in a nice apartment next to the thermal bath. We visited couple of restaurants but the BEST one was the Glorius! OMG, the staff is really amazing : professional, friendly caring!!! The food is amazing and the price is friendly / worthy! ( Also the daily menu is so super ! )
If I stay next time in Mako for sure I will book in the Glorius to try the half board package!

Well done for the hotel management as they made the BEST in Makó and they choosed the most qualified/talented staff to run this business!

Mako decent little town. Glorious Hotel is like from the movies ... old fashioned outside but very new and pleasant inside.. Stuff is friendly and very pleasing... The most important thing is that Thermal Bath Hagymatikum is just a few steps away. For every recommendation..

Very good rooms, service and location. They have also jacuzzi, sauna and gym free of charge.
Food was good but choice isn't soo good for four star hotel.
In my opinion, hotel is too expensive especially through the Booking application.
And unfortunately there is slight mistrust towards the guests. It us checked and complicated unnecessary. Like during communism.

Review for January 2023, for the restaurant, lunch:
-called ahead for a reservation, friendly staff;
-menu was available online, ahead.
- kids menu exists and is more than enough as portion size;
- menu is available in 3 languages: HU / EN / RO, princes are listed in HUF and for comparison also into € (you will be charged HUFs)
-it's in walking distance from Hagymatikum Spa.
Food was delicious, cooked on the spot, serving sizes quite large, payment accepted by card (tip can be paid also by card).

Overall very nice impression, good food, English fluent staff. Overall better value here than Rocco restaurant, even if as a hotel location is quite expensive.

Great hotel, the staff is friendly and the facilities are very nice. Food is also good, even though the buffet area is very small the variety was usually very good. I would recommend the superior rooms.
The hotel is very kid/baby friendly as well.

Clean hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff, central place in the spa, parking, tickets for the zoo in Szeged, discount tickets for swimming pools, all by arrangement. The only suggestion: there is no exchange office within the hotel. (For guests coming for the first time it is a problem, because everything works until 4-5 p.m)

Good: Room, bed, meeting room, personnel (very kind, maybe even excellent!), athmosphere (do not miss to go to the roof for few drinks in the night!), parking.
Improvement options: foooooood. Breakfast was kind of okay, but then for anything else it is better to go across the street to the left, where there is one of the best restaurants ever, and it is even quite cost effective. ;-) This place to eat nearby added, the 5 stars evaluation fits. ;-)

Nice and quiet hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Good quality of food. Very close to the spa. Special deals about spa tickets, good offer and discount. Free and safe parking. Generaly, very good expirience.

Faboulos hotel in the Mako's downtown. Excellent restaurant, profesional staff with a veey good command in English language. The guest of hotel has the possibility to access directly in SPA centre. Beautiful!

Pricy, but smack in the middle of everything. Good food. Lovely staff. Enjoyable...
