KONOBA MONDO

Half expected this to be more hype than substance but boy was I wrong. This place was delightful and the food was beyond outstanding. Well worth the money!
We had the polenta with white truffle and the tagliatelle with black truffle and they were both amazing.
The polenta was delicate and the crispy Parmesan cheese was a perfect accompaniment.

Absolutely lives up to its reputation. Service was delightful and very attentive. The beef cheeks is one of my all time favorite dishes. It is so nice to see a restaurant that gets so much international attention to actually maintain their original high quality.

A wonderful place in the middle of Istria in a little center with great truffles (black & whites) and a lot of special dishes! Great service and good price in a timeless atmosphere!

We went to the "Konoba Mondo", but they did not have any availability. Instead, they sent us to their second restaurant "Montona Gallery. What a pleasant sorprise.
Great setup with amazing views. Pristine service and delicious food.
There were 4 of us, and we all agreed, we must go back.
Our server was Leila, and she was the definition of a great service. Every server in the restaurant industry should learn from her.
Food was so tasty, and the atmosphere was so good that we did not want night to end.
We would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful dinner at mondo. We really enjoyed the chopped liver with truffles. They did not have a truffle tasting but did serve some included dishes such as truffles, olive oil, bread, and grapa. The steak was good and so was the polenta, but was a little too rich. We also got eaten by mosquitoes so bring long pants if sitting outside.

Everything was really good.

We had cold plate with salami and cheese for two, two homemade pasta, and then for main also pasta, beef stew, stuffed calamary, chicken. Very tasty.

I think what ever you order it will be good as the cook is good.

We ate a lot but we did not drank much, few glasses of wine (local, was good) and few bottles of water.

Two deserts.

Service was great.

The best restaurant in Motovun, not because Anthony Bourdain ate there and it was mentioned in the New York Times. The food is insanely good, everything is fresh and home made, the wine card offers delights from the region. If you are in the area, go and visit. A must for everyone who loves great food and a great culinary experience.

To all Anthony Bourdain fans this is one of the few restaurants for which traveling out of the way is truly worth it! The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the overall experience of having this great meal in a small remote village was authentic 👌

Kid friendly, super kind, timely service, and had the MOST delicious polenta ever! Have to point out that I have ordered it for my son, and even though I am not the biggest fan, I was surprised of how nice it is!

5/5 Really good, delicious food. Service was really nice with good recommendations. We took one starter for two (Istrian plate), two warm starters and one dessert. It was totally enough for us two - we were with bikes and needed to ride back home. Prices are a bit higher, but worth of every Euro. I would recommend this place.

Wow! One if the best meals i have had recently. Do not miss it if around. Everything we had was amazing.

We can recommend this fantastic restaurant! The restaurant was also mentioned in the New York Times. They are specialized on truffle food. It’s definitely worth to visit it. Service is extremely friendly and very obliging. We can recommend to visit the restaurant in September - black and white truffle are available.

Anthony Bourdain. This restaurant is truffle inspired-All the dishes that they offer have some sort of truffle. It was really tasty and they also offer a complimentary appetizer which like an olive/truffle spread. Make a reservation.

Thanks to Rick Steve’s recommendation, we stopped here for lunch on our way up to the top of Motovun. It was such a satisfying meal, and the staff was so polite and attentive. Our server brought their house made bread and spread (made with olive, caper, and black truffle), which are on the house and tasted great with their homemade olive oil. We indulged in truffles and ordered Tagliatelle with black truffle, frittata with black truffle, homemade pate with black truffle, and tuna steak；each were prepared just right: the frittata was tender and creamy, and the tuna steak, which in my past experience at other restaurants was often overdone and dry, was juicy and sweet. After we cleared our plates our server also offered coffee on the house, which we didn’t take.
There are probably other good restaurants in Motovun, but I would not hesitate to come back to Konoba Mondo if I visit the town again for the excellent food, impeccable service, and great value.

Nice little pet friendly restaurant with very attentive staff and great food. They provided a gluten free option of "on the house" welcoming snack: warm gluten free bread and tapenada with black olives, truffles and virgin olive oil. Then I had a tasteful (also gluten free) risotto with aubergines & truffles and finished my lunch with an espresso coffee.

We've visited several restaurants in Istria during our trip, but I believe this one had the best food. I've tried Ombolo with black tartuffe and my wife had pork medallions with cranberry sauce - excellent.
The staff was friendly and professional and the ambience was great.

Celebrated my b-day here. Visited in late March and it was only us there. Top restaurant visit of my life, hands down. We ate every drop on the plates. Superb service with professional standard yet relaxed atmosphere for good prices. Three generations have managed this restaurant and you can feel the good times people have experienced here. We also got to hear stories such as Anthony Bourdaine’s visit or truffle hunting. Highly recommend

Really good dishes with truffles. It is also much more calm than the other restaurants with the nice view at the wall. The service was really good. We enjoyed the experience here.
