This is definitely a must visit place while in Rovinj. The food is amazing and up to its Michelin standards. We had the red menu based on lobster joined by incredible local ingredients. I recommend that you also get the wine pairing because it lifts the whole experience. The service is impeccable and functioning like clockwork.

Amazing dining experience!! The food was amazing, great combination from local high quality product prepared in a modern creative way. Best dinner for us since a long time!
However, what really made the difference was the friendly service and exquisite manners from the whole team. You can really feel that they are happy that you are there and proud of making you feel special. Congratulations to the whole team! We are already looking forward to our next visit!

High Class Dining in the Old Town of Rovinj. Exquisite food in the most beautiful and extraordinary presentation plus a great selection of local wines. We really enjoyed our evening!

I had the opportunity to dine at Monte earlier this month with 2 other individuals. Let me just say, this was not just a dinner, this was a superb experience for the senses. The presentation of each dish was on-point and the wine pairings complimented the dishes nicely. The experience was flawlessly executed from the “setting of the landscape” to the dessert.
The restaurant itself was comfortable and relaxed, definitely gives positive vibes. I give Monte a 10/10 as it was an all-around excellent dining experience.

this restaurant definitely deserves a Michelin star. I was a guest for the second time and it often happens that, of course, when the menus are changed, the quality also fluctuates, but not at Monte. The service is also up to par. Unfortunately, I was there on the day when the Austrian guests behaved in this excellent restaurant as if they were at the Oktoberfest.

I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate our wedding day and found the Monte, the website doesn't show much, but it seems to me very good restaurant and my thoughts were topped so much. We were invited with the beautiful table outside ion the little balcony with a glas of champagne. We had the complete blue menu with corresponding wines and it was so incredible good that we decided to come on more time during our holidays to have the red menu as well. I think more is not to say.

Perfect in every detail. The service was amazing, everybody was so polite and punctual. The staff was at their best and so was the food and the matching wines. They were selected by their sommelier and matched the dishes in perfect harmony.

Not only the food was excellent but also the staff and the wines. The ingredients are so pure and fresh you can truelly enjoy every bite.

The food came at your own tempo, as the wine. Everything was suited as you wished. We ordered the blue menu, but had the possibility to change to one dish from the red menu.

They even had an vegetarian menu. The staff speaks also English, German end some even Dutch.

The location was magnificent. Just calculate some extra time because the restraunt is only accessible by foot. It's 450 meters from the parking. But is the most lovely walk to do.

It is sadly to here that some people are complaining on details that aren't even correct. You should know they truelly made our evening perfect.

From the several welcome starters, and continuing with the carefully planned sequence of dishes (available in the three differnet menus: red, blue, green), we had a wonderful journey through local flavors, reinterpreted in a "molecular approach". Everything was super tasty and surprising, with very good matches from the wine cart. We loved how Monte combined the craftsmanship without loosing sight of the region's highlights (like the Boškarin beef). A night to remember. Highly recommended!

Really elegant place in the heart of the Rovinj, actually near to the church or top of the town, thus “Monte“. Nice reception by Tijtske, co-owner, her husband is the chef. Went for Tendence menu, more "funky" (quote Tijtske). Nice modern cuisine meticulously prepared and presented. They care about every detail. The only downside is a space overloaded with tables, and understandable since the restaurant is situated in historic part of the town.
Update 6/2022: there are three menus named after the additive colour model RGB (red, green, and blue).

Yesterday we had a great evening! Restaurant Monte proudly is the best Croatian restaurant! Service was impeccable. Food prepared with a lot attention and experience. Thank you Monte for a beautiful night!

Good as first time.

By visiting Monte restaurant you will not have only dinner but you will experience a great night starting from the location of the place at the old city of Rovinj behind the old church. By walking on this old street if during the sunset is even better view. Then when you arrive at the place nice and friendly staff will take care of you from the moment of entering until leaving. Everything is cured with details, amazing servings sets, the light inside is so perfect that does not bother you but opposite you will feel so relaxed. Regarding the food I try the 6 course menu, they offered 3 type of menu for degustation Green, Red and Blu. I ordered the blu one i am more sea food oriented person but for the vegetarians you can have the green one. I would highlight the plate with octopus a perfect combination of tastes and a perfect cook of scampi was just cooked on perfect way. Then regarding the wines they are offering a wide range of local wines starting from white, red, rose and sparkling. We were curious to try the wine paring with food menu and at the end the full experience was concluded with success and at the end you will just be sure that it worth to visit the place. When you will have your dessert don't forget to order the local Gewürztraminer 😉

My husband and I had an incredibly romantic and adventurous dinner here on our first night in Rovinj. It was worth making the reservation in advance. Service and food couldn’t have been better. Definitely worth the extra expense and the Terano wine we had from Rovinj itself was phenomenal. A wonderful memory to add to many on our honeymoon!

What an amazing restaurant! We had a lovely night at Monte. Front of the house was perfect, warm and genuine welcome. The service was perfect, very attentive, friendly and genuine. Very knowledgeable about all the dishes and able to explain dishes in detail. The food was above and beyond. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding, as was the creativity of the dishes. Beautiful and tasty. Thank you very much, we'll definitely be back.

Outstanding restaurant in an old world setting, but with modern food on a very high level. Equally serving artistic presentations and taste, every item on the menu delivered. However, the highlight was the wine pairings. Excellent wines to be sure, but the presentation by the Sommelier was worth the price of the meal, at least if you are an oenophile. Overall, a world class meal with world class service. Bravo Monte!

This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had! Despite our high expectations, we were positively surprised with every course. We ordered the 7 course menu which contained very unusual combinations. First few courses were fish dishes, then few meat dishes and finally two very original desserts. The staff was more than friendly, and their sommelier had perfectly paired wines. Prices were steep, but worth every cent!
