Tasty food, capable waiters, and an amazing atmosphere.
On the entrance, they have a full menu and are among the rare restaurants in Zadar to have a section dedicated to vegetarians. It's rather limited but varied. This was a deciding factor to go here.
We ate monkfish with gamberi and polenta, soup of the day, and green tagliatelle with julienne vegetables. The restaurant has a satisfactory fish and sea creatures section to select from. The waiter was efficient and friendly.

I had an amazing experience with this restaurant. The staff is really great, everyone was very welcoming and the service was fast.
I ordered a seafood pasta and it was delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had. The price is a bit more expensive than places nearby, but the portions are big and in my opinion the food is worth it.

Very special food at restaurant Groppo. Was very tasty and had exceptional service. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Such a beautiful establishment I would highly recommend for any meal at a reasonable price in Zadar. I had a great experience with my girlfriend.

Great service - I think the guy that served us was called Boris. He clearly enjoyed the food and drink that he was serving - really enthusiastic, and made some really good recommendations. I wish I could remember the drink he recommended me as it was so nice - it was some sort of red wine and cherry liqueur mix, with ice cubes! Sweet and refreshing, perfect on a hot sticky night.

I had a vegan main that was delicious. I found being vegan in Croatia very hard, so this meal was very welcome. The family had steaks, and bar a few chewy bits, they seemed very happy.

We sat on the part of the restaurant on the main road through Zadar. That was perfect for people watching, and enjoying the vibe.

The meal did take time to be served. Not a big problem as we enjoyed sitting there and watching Zadar life. But if we had known then we may have ordered some bread or olives to snack on while we waited.

This restaurant in Zadar is just fantastic! The mix of modern and traditional vibes makes it so cozy yet stylish. And let me tell you about the food – it's seriously amazing. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor, and the price was good in Zadar.

Plus, dining here is an experience in itself. Whether you're inside admiring the cool décor or outside on the terrace with a view, it's all so special. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this gem in Zadar! My family had an amazing time and we will defiantly dine here again if and when we visit Zadar again!!

Great location, excellent service, waiter was attentive and even had time to tell us how the octopus salad is made to perfection. Seafood pasta was delicious.
Garlic bread was tasty. I like fact that the seafood platter fish was filet, most restaurants serve whole fish which contains bones.

Situated on the main street of the old town, next to the Sf. Anastasia Cathedral and the Sf. Donatus church, here you can find the most cozy restaurant, the best sea food and not only sea food, enormous portions and the best personel in town!
Boris, one of the pièces de résistance of the staff, with a high level of professionalism, with a nice smile and great singing voice, helped us to enjoy everything and will gets my 5 stars!!!
I trully recommend it and I will always come back with big pleasure there!

We were very impressed with Boris, he spoke many languages and made us feel very comfortable explaining everything on the menu thoroughly.
When he saw us struggling with the fish bones he stepped in to give us a masterclass in deboning a fish!

Absolutely delicious! Staff were so quick and attentive. We got rose and an aperol on a sunny day and both were stunning. We have fried calamari, which came with chips and tartar sauce. It’s about €6-9 for a wine/aperol. Foods a bit on the higher price end, but it definitely worth it and comparable to other places. Portions are big! My friend had the starter risotto and it was delicious and big enough for a meal.

We had a great experience at Groppo. We were starving after a lot of walking through the city and happened upon this place. We were kindly greeted by a server and given the choice of the patio seating or inside. Both options were nice, the patio was natural and beautiful and the inside was warm and comfortable. The food was great and the service was wonderful. The bread was especially good. We'd definitely come back, thanks!

Must have restaurant experience! It was nothing short of amazing. The food is absolutely delicious and the desserts are even more amazing - pistacchio mousse is to die for. Our waiter was kind, professional and paid great attention to us. We were also impressed how good his English was and we counted him to speak at least 4 different languages at different tables. Unforgettable experience and we'll be sure to come back for more. Highly recommended!

The best experience ever! The staff was so professional and kind and the vibe was simply amazing. The restaurant provides tasty and high quality food as well as an extensive wine list. I would definitely recommend.

Our last evening in Zadar and we decided to treat ourselves. Paolo greeted us like an old friend and followed up on our dinner throughout.

Our first wine pick Pinot Gris was not cold so we were served a local white wine (sorry I forgot name) from Petrčane. It was a little sweeter than we expected but so lovely.

The soup came out and I think I could not have been happier and could have stopped there. At first, I thought the portion was too great but as soon as I had tasted it, I wished for it to never stop. It was so flavorful and the mushroom flavor fresh and bright.

A mixed salad followed whose ingredients seemed to have just been taken from the garden.

The entrance of the entree shocked me. The platter was huge with double servings of tuna, clams, lobster tail, grilled octopus and a local fish. I was not able to fully eat my half but my father was happy to take over.

Throughout, the staff was attentive but not overwhelming. The entire experience was almost like a dinner party at a friend’s.

Thank you everyone for making Zadar even more special for us.

Amazing find right in the heart of Zadar. Great service and food. They messed up one of the orders and were very diligent in bringing out the correct dish shortly. Zadar is known for truffles and they had a wide variety of seafood and meat options with truffles. Highly recommend the cream of mushroom soup as well as the dark chocolate mousse with sour cherry! 5/5

This restaurant is absolutely stunning. Excellent food, specialized in Adriatic seafood. However, the lamb, veal cheaks and dry aged beef were also perfect. Very welcoming staff. We visit Zadar every fear. This was Our first time at Groppo. It won't be the last

Dog friendly, Vegetarian friendly, very very nice and professional staff.
Only the prices are a bit higher than whats written online. Most of them speak German, and prices are also listed in €.
Portions are good (for example the octopus salad can be enough for a normal person)

Located right on the same street as The Cathedral Anastasia, lunch special, spagetti frutti di mare, octopus salad were excellent at quiet and sunny outdoor table. The server was very knowledgeble to the area, on history of Zadar!
