Restoran Ankora

The food was absolutely stunning, cooks did an amazing job with every single meal we had. Waiters were polite and helpful, we even got free cake from one of them once. The restaurant has a great location. It gets crowded in the evening during the holiday season but you don't have to wait for too long, 10 minutes max.

Tried there mushroom soup and dorade fish grill. Both tasted good. Nice ambiance with a great view of the sea. Overall had a good experience

You have to make reservation before you go there in the high season and almost every good quality restaurant in Makarska.

We wanted to sit with 8 persons group at dinner time, of course they were totally full. But the waiters were very kind and assured us that there would be a table 15-20 minutes later.
We didn't want to eat in a mainstream restaurant so waited this time on the beach.

It was worth!

Amazing table totally next to the sea. Absolutely fast and accurate service.
They have totally freshly squeezed juices from lots of combinations of fruits and herbs (nothing sugar!).

We ordered a meat and a fish plate to taste everything. All of these was delicious with perfect textures and sauces.
Only little thing that the fishes was saltless a bit and I missed some fresh greens or vegetables from the plates.

Okay, not a cheap place but I recommend it!

Although in middle of other restaurants in a rather busy area of Makarska, Ankora is really special. Staff is authentic and very obliging. You will be treated like good friends. Besides all the things from the grill you might expect in Croatia, the also have real typical Croatian dishes (e.g. Goulash, Hunters Risotto, Pork in dark beer sauce, etc.). We even were here for breakfast and they have a broad variety of egg dishes (e.g. scrambled, omelette, hash browns - all in various styles). Btw. you will sit directly at the beach. If you have any space left after the quite large portions - try the liqiud chocolate cake 🤤

Service was great, food was delicious and huge portion! The waiting is time is long, but the resatuarant was totally full with guests. We received a free apetizer as a compensation.

Beautiful and cosy restaurant. Delicious sea food and drinks. The stuff are quickly interested in guests.
Of course, you can pay by credit card.

Delicious food, portions so big that are hard to overeat. The waiters are very nice and smiling all the time, I highly recommend this place and to save it on your bucket list in Makarska!!

Ankora is an excellent restuarant in Makaska. The location, the quality of food and the heartly attitude of the personnel... we found everything really excellent. A good choice for both breakfast (we have been twice) and dinner (we have been 3 times). We suggest to book in advance the PEKA, a traditional way to cook meet in Croatia. You will not be disappointed... Special greentings to Manuel (you see him in the attached photograph, he is the second from right)!

Marvelous personnel! They were friendly and helpful, made us laugh and definitely made it a night to remember. The site on the beach, the dark silent sea while enjoying a good meal with our children, of course was a great part of making it a moment to hold close to our hearts forever.

Best prices, bat there was one impolite Bosnian waiter, he was so rude, other stuff was so nice.

Excellent. High class, accommodating, affordable, and utterly delicious. Great service and delectable food. We came with two picky children and had zero problems. Delightful.
