Valamar Meteor Hotel

Nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff. Everyone speaks English and most of them good German. The breakfast buffet has a lot of fresh and freshly made foods. You can get free towels to use in the spa section or for the pool or to take to the beach.
The location of the hotel is perfect because it is directly at the beach/promenade and close to the old town of Makarska.
You can book trips directly at the hotel with the concierge.
There are two bars and free table tennis, table soccer and pool tables you can use.
There are mountains directly behind the hotel perfect for a hike and you can travel to a lot of other nearby islands by boat.
I would recommend the hotel especially after the high season because then it is not that crowded and the room costs less than half the price.

This hotel is great, whenever we come ,we enjoy great service, food and overall ambient. Everyone is really nice and professional. The hotel is great for family with children, they were nice to prepare meal for our daughter. The Maro club for the children is also great, our daughter enjoyed it so much, the staff there , especially Miss Elmira was friendly and nice. Five starts from us!

We stayed in the neighbouring hotel, Hotel Park, but came to the Valamar hotel for dinners and evening entertainment.
The hotel is super child friendly, with a children´s department, video games, entertainment...
Very nicely renovated reception and lobby, luxurious garden and swimming pool area.
Great prices for both dinner and drinks, compared to other hotels, good price for massages and super service.

Out child (7yo) was very pleased with Maro Club - including animators (focus on Elmira and Silvio) and contents of the playroom. This is our fourth stay at the hotel since spring 2022, and Maro is one of the main reasons why we keep coming back.

Great experience for vacation in December. Really calm and comfortable atmosphere for family vacation. Everything was on top, especially team in children playground Maro Club, ie Elmira, Silvio and Dora - special thanks to them.

We spent a lovely week at the Valamar Meteor in Makarska at the beginning of October. The rooms were nice and the beds were really comfortable. The breakfasts were the best we have had in a hotel. The location was perfectly placed. The affiliated La Pentola Trattoria was really good too. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and Maja the concierge is an absolute treasure 😊

What a great hotel, all the amenities you need, close to town and beach. The restaurant is great, breakfast and dinner amazing. Prime location for a place to relax after a busy time exploring Croatia

Thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. The customer service was exceptional! Everyone we interacted with was very helpful and accommodating.
The hotel is well-designed and friendly to people with mobility disabilities (wheelchairs, crutches). It was also very clean despite the amount of visitors. There were plenty of spaces to lounge, my favorite spot was on the beach beds by the spa overlooking the beach.

It’s also child-friendly with plenty of facilities for children of all ages, incl. indoor and outdoor pools, a huge play room, a few gaming rooms, etc. Children entertainment was amazing and entertainers were absolutely adorable!

The food (breakfast and dinner) was very good, with plenty of choice (incl. vegan options) and there was plenty of staff working tirelessly to refill the food, take away the empty plates, and keep the place in order.
Overall, highly recommended! We’ll be returning to Valamar hotels with Maro clubs in the future :)

The Hotel is really good. Had two rooms connected with doors on the fourth floor. Staff is really nice and helpful, breakfast is awesome: there is everything you can think of: fresh made eggs, omelets, pancakes, cakes, bread, cheese.. they even have a section for vegan food! Breakfast is really good. The pools are very clean and surprisingly not too crowded. The Gym is small but enough (also not crowded). The beach is really crowded but that's normal for public beaches in croatia.

Now, the things I did not like: parking can be kind of a challenge as you might have to struggle find a space. Besides that, something that really grinded my gears: the beach bar. There is a beach bar about two blocks south of the hotel which was extremely loud. I really couldn't sleep as our room was south and the bass hit my ears the whole night. Now, but: the staff tried to solve the situation the best they could do: provided me with ear-plugs and even offered us another room (which we didn't take because I figured I was the only one having trouble sleeping and ear plugs were fine). Nevertheless: if you go there and have a light sleep, try to get a room starting with the number 2 and not one)

Anyways: it was a pleasant stay, not too expensive for what they have to offer and you really feel at home and welcome within a few hours.

Perfect location, beautiful modern hotel. Spotlessly clean and a fantastic pool with plenty of sunbeds. Very relaxing holiday in a stunning part of the world. 😊

Friendly and very helpful staff. Great food with a wide range. Beachfront location, everything within a walking distance. Cannot fault the hotel.

We've been staying here for the past week, we booked through easyJet and were originally booked to stay in the Valamar Places but were moved here as the hotel was not yet ready. We are so pleased we got moved as this is the far better hotel, it is a little tired but has everything you need.
The rooms are compact but good, comfortable beds and good views.
The food is full of variety and is of good quality
It's excellent for families with plenty of activities for children but it's quiet and if you were here without kids you wouldn't find them intrusive
The gym and pools are perfect and there are plenty of sunbeds

It's in a great location with beach front access.

Booked with easyJet holidays and it was a lovely place. Food (breakfast) very good selection and we ate dinner buffet one evening and was just as good.

Restaurants and bars along the short sea front with great selections.

Rooms are very clean and we were able to pay a small fee for our car to be in the car park. Would recommend this area and hotel to friends and family that choose to come this way :)

Very peaceful and relaxing area

Wonderful hotel with somewhat outdated bathrooms ( tubs instead of walk-in showers). Great views!... if you can get a direct Sea view, otherwise the Mountain View is also very nice.
The breakfast is wonderful and plenty of choice, I would withhold a high number for the dinners as I found them boring, Bland and cold.
The beach is wonderful ,the wellness is fantastic. the sauna is absolutely wonderful and the indoor pool is also wonderful.
The infinity pool outside is marvellous, 25 m long ....although somewhat narrow. The downside is that children are permitted to jump in the pool and it becomes very chaotic when children and grown-ups are in the same pool especially as there is a children's pool separately.

For the rest I found it a wonderful hotel with a Fantastic TripAdvisor (Mahia)!!
A down side is that it is very restricted for mobile restricted people, wheelchair, etc.
For people who like to go where it is very kid friendly it's the place to go!... for people who prefer adults only this is not recommendable.

So far have been very impressed with the hotel.
Staff are great. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. Indoor pool and spa really nice. Too cold yet to use outdoor one.
Beautiful setting and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a few days relaxed stay.

Our family very much enjoyed the stay and all that came with it. We're definetly coming back next summer and would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with kids as the Maro entertainment club is the best club for children we've seen so far on our travels!!

Outstanding friendly, welcoming and warm service from Jelena and the entire team everyone from central reservations, to the warm welcome from Marko at the entrance, Maja who was superb with accommodating our excursion needs, and the wonderful staff in the Mediterranean restaurant, pools and spa.

Attention to detail is exceptional. Animation team for kids was also 5 star. We stay end April and had good spring weather, sunny and warm days mixed with cloudy cool days.

Only drawback was the exterior could do with a bit of renovation and fresh paint.
