Cerro Azul Meambar National Park

Very nice day trip walking through the national park. Nice waterfalls and views across the lake. Was super quiet when we were there as it was a weekday with entry fee reasonable. Public transport easy to get here if staying around he Lake and then a cheap Tuk Tuk to the top.

Nice park, as well-maintained as everyone has said. The loop trail plus cascada off-shoot took us 4.5 hours total. I'm slow uphill, and unfortunately 80% of the loop trail is uphill, even when you're going lower in elevation.

Spotted a jaguarundi from the tuk-tuk up, but somehow was the only one to see it cross the street as we were turning around a curve. Actually not so surprising considering the limited view the tuk-tuk's offer 😂

Also spotted a motmot bird, the national bird of El Salvador. It was just sitting on the tree across from me when I sat down on one of the benches to catch my breath. One perk of having difficulty uphill is stopping for breath more often and having these surprises!

The water in the cascada where swimming was allowed is cold! The cascada at the off-shoot trail had a sign saying no contaminating and another saying 5 people can swim for 10 minutes there - not sure which sign was true.

Beautiful rain forest with three different hiking tracks and good spots to view wildlife or have a bath in fresh natural water basins. Especially birds are often to be seen. The street to the Panacam Lodge is alright even with a normal car.

The best hike ever. Nice view it takes four hour but it worth it.

Nice place to have a splendid stay.Has accomodation with swimming pool,slides for kids,horse riding,go karting.

Excellent hike, camping, and experience with nature. However, be ready for a long 4-hour hike to do the longest trail. Awesome views!

Beautiful mountain-scape, healthy cloud forest with a semi-technical walk and plenty of gorgeous sights! Safety is great and prices are great, you can spot park rangers in most places. The hotel is nice and clean, price is great! Landscaping is very nice. If you’re taking the long trail, either way, it is recommended to bring replenishing drinks, there’s a face on the mountain where you get little wind and it’s hard to breathe. Careful with spiders and scorpions in rooms, they are abundant as this is an ecologically healthy environment.

Amazing place

Really liked this park, 60L entrance fee and the large trail is a really fun walk with beautiful views. We saw a snake, a woodpecker, butterflies, a hummingbird and some other birds.

The lodge from where the trail starts has a veranda with hummingbird feeders. You cannot see this from the entrance and there is no sign saying the but you have to have a drink there. There are so many hummingbirds, it is beautiful!

One of the most beautiful places you have to visit in Honduras. You enjoy fresh air, the hummingbirds, exotic animals, the mountain and more! You can stay at the beautiful lodge and have food there.

Amazing trails, beautiful waterfalls, suspended bridges, and overlooks. This is a great place to see tropical cloud forest flora and fauna.

Great place to enjoy nature, resting and reset from the daily routine, beautiful landscapes, friendly people and good amenities. Fully recommended.
