Café Welchez • Copán Ruinas

A delightful spot just off the main square. Breakfast was delicious and well plated. I especially love the delightful pastries. All good. The coconut flan was decadent. My fav was the Jade Copan drink smoothie. No idea what's in it but it has hints of a well balanced avocado and local like flavors. YUM!

Don't get me wrong, food and service was good. Loved how early they opened.
But $12 for a breakfast and coffee in Honduras is kinda pricey ... !! It delivered but I'm just surprised at the pricing. 😅 😭 this is bay area pricing yooo . Cute place though and hit the spot

Very nice and friendly cafe on the corner. The food was amazing and the coffee was really good. They also serve desert here if you’re looking for something sweet. Highly recommend!

Owned and operated by what is most accurately described as a family of Honduran aristocracy, the family Welchez have an extensive brand that spans the country. From massive coffee plantations to most of the big hotels in town and the coffee shops like this one bearing their family name… I’ve been to many of their locations and they are generally the best at what they offer in this country. Their wealth power and influence allow them to bring a level of quality, luxury, and consistency that other service industry providers are simply not capable of.

Best coffee I've had in years, and the desserts were amazing.
Coffee was so good that I didn't have to use sugar for it.
I recommend to sit at the balcony on the second floor, it has an amazing view of town.

The breakfast served here is delicious and help to start your day on a good note. Nice ambience and excellent service as well. Will definitely come back whenever I visit Copan Ruinas.

Excellent coffee, food and desserts. We also bought ground coffee (house blend, which is what they use in the cafe)—delicious. And the barista, Maricela, can make any design you desire 💕

I visited this cafe to pick up some coffee to take back home from my trip to Honduras. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, it was air conditioned inside and upstairs they had a big open area with some balconies where you can sit and enjoy your food and coffee!

Very good desserts and coffee options at a good price. Has nice A/C in downstairs, and upstairs is open to get some fresh air or soak in the sun. 100% recommend if you have a meeting online to attend. Internet is very very fast here.

Very delicious breakfast and attentive stuff! The food was served very quickly and the interior design of the cafe looks very cute. I can highly recommend the fruit smoothies and the capuchino - the cream is a kind of a dream:)

Very good capuchinos and moccas. Taste is rich and on the sweet side without any added sugar. If You like stronger taste, then it is not the best place, but good nevertheless.
Excellent cakes as well

Went here in 2016 and came back this year (2021). It's still as excellent as I remember it, nice classic atmosphere and excellent coffee, licuados and cakes! Upstairs you can sit with a view onto the main square.

Lovely place where you can have a nice breakfast and coffee. Service is kind. I recommend the supreme baleada, it's huge!

Nice rooftop area to enjoy a cup of coffee after A long day of being in the sun. Their baked goods looked really good so I will have to come back

Update: Returned the next day and the iced espresso was 5/5 and guava dessert was 5/5.

Iced americano was 4/5 and the carrot cake was 3/5.

Delicious food, earliest breakfast in town if you’re looking to get your day started early! But best to be there spot on as they open 6:30am, the tour groups sometimes get there early and take over the lovely terraced dining spaces up stairs while their friends sleep in.
