Orquigonia

A beautiful spot to get out of the concrete jungle and into the real jungle. They preserve orchids from all over Guatemala and have an incredible collection that you explore while walking around their beautifully crafted grounds. They are literally doing gods work and protecting the beautiful floral diversity of Guatemala. Totally worth a stop for a tour of the park (Q75/person) and a tea in the jungle after. The girls working the store were super helpful about other things to do in Coban. Get here by taking a bus from near the mall for Q3 and then stop at Casa Cacao on the way back to Coban to eat chocolate infused dishes.

Love it !!! It’s a beautiful place, I went on raining season but I enjoy it!! We met the owner and enjoy his stories. And the tea a the end of the tour.
Orquídeas are seasonal so you only will see the ones that are on the time of your visit.

Excellent and informative tour. Interesting to learn about orchids and see so many. This place is doing excellent conservation work in the midst of a lot of a deforestation. Come here to show your support and to learn something new. 75Q for a guided tour and cup of tea at the end. Easy to reach by bus from Cobán. Take a bus opposite Plaza Magdalena heading in the direction of Guatamala city/ San Cristóbal Verapaz and ask to get off at the Orquigonia. Should cost between Q3 - Q5. Great half day activity.

Unique experience! We had an English speaking guided tour. You can bring your dog on leash.

One of the best short experiences we’ve had in Guatemala. Our guide, Rueben was awesome (although we did feel bad for asking so many questions!). The visit can take about an hour but can be longer if you’re taking photos and walking slow. The Coban tea at the end was a lovely touch, as was the book of bird feathers (which Diana showed us!).

Absolutely amazing. The miniature orchids are mind blowing, I've never seen anything like that before. You don't need a reservation, just turn up and you'll be assigned a guide to show you around the garden. The price for foreigners was 50Q and includes a guided tour plus a cup of tea at the end. All staff were super lovely and knowledgeable about the orchids and the birds you can spot here (we saw toucans and hummingbirds).

A great place to visit and learn about Guatemalan Orchids. Guided tours in real natural orchid habitats, a must see in Coban

I think one of the best place to visit if you want to see Guatemalas National flower... La monja blanca.. Friendly staff and good guides who will explain each micro orquídeas and good tea to drink.. About one hours the tour not too long just alot to see in the walking process
The fee is 50 Quetzales about ( 7.50 dollars) not bad..

Great place for a wonderful look at orchids you’d never notice without their expert help, as well as the showy ones. Worth it if you’re staying close to Coban

Spent a delightful hour or two being taken around by a knowledgable English speaking guide.

Added benefit of some colourful birds including humming birds at their nectar feeders.

This an orchid conservation organisation, not an or hid farm. You’ll get lots of interesting information on the plants and how some are and have been used.

Great way to come in contact with nature, interactive from start to finish. A very nice activity to do with children. The guide will awaken the orchid-lover within you, even if you didn't consider yourself a flower lover to begin with!

Amazing walk through the rain forest just outside of Coban, Guatemala. Beautiful orchids, dozens of varieties. Just spectacular.
