Ruach Kitchens

We put up with our old kitchen for a very long time, fearing that the stress of designing, choosing and sourcing a new one would be too much! But Ruach is local to us and one day my wife just walked in and that was that. We both popped back and immediately fixed an appointment for a designer to visit us. We didn’t need to look anywhere else - sometimes you just know when it’s right.

The entire design process was pain free. We felt listened to and understood. They replied willingly to endless questions and requests to change things. They researched alternatives when there were things we weren’t sure about, and they always remembered it was our kitchen and didn’t expect us to accept anything we weren’t happy with. The visuals were very helpful, and the plans were full of detail and very easy to understand.

The schedule bringing in all the different trades was clear and efficient, and the choice of suppliers is great. The kitchen was finished in July 2019 and everything still looks and feels as new - a testament to the quality of providers that Ruach choose to work with.

But our biggest praise goes to our kitchen fitters - James, Ben and Neil. They were a delight to have around, and that is terribly important when the kitchen is the central part of your home. They are clearly expert in their profession, with skill and experience that are invaluable when the unexpected arises. The process looks so simple on paper - but once you’re back to bare brick walls and no floor you find all the hidden quirks. Their attention to detail went above and beyond, and the kitchen they gave us is everything we could have hoped for.

We would not hesitate to recommend Ruach.

We are SO pleased with our new Ruach kitchen! Beautifully and cleverly designed and brilliantly installed. We really couldn't have hoped for anything better. We were also really blessed with the deal we found at Ruach. A brand new kitchen, ordered by another customer but cancelled by them prior to installation. Advertised by Ruach at a sensible, reduced price and excellently adapted to suit our kitchen space. Highly recommended!! Thank you Ruach; Ian, Tilly, Neil and James in particular. :)

Ruach did a brilliant job designing and installing our kitchen - I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Ian, the designer, suggested a change to the layout of the lower ground floor which was relatively easy and inexpensive to make, but which made a huge difference to both the amount of storage space available, and to the flow of the space. And when a problem developed with one of the wall cupboards about 4 years after the kitchen was installed, Ben, the fitter, came and sorted it out free of charge. Highly recommended.

From start to finish our experience of using Ruach was excellent. Heather did a fantastic job of designing our kitchen and Neil was brilliant at the fitting stage. Nothing was ever too much trouble and Ian (Ruach owner) was always very reasonable to deal with. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Ruach kitchens offer bespoke kitchens at a surprisingly affordable price. I was worried when my wife took me along expecting another over priced outfit that were interested more in the depth of your pockets than your kitchen. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Their professionalism from start to finish was first class, as were the quality of their kitchens.

From advanced video head sets showing your chosen kitchen in virtual form (just like on the tele) to installation and after sales we could not be happier.

It’s very difficult to find companies particularly in the construction industry that act with true accountability and integrity and treat their customers as “the client”. Ruach excelled at every level.

I am not the easiest person to work with and expect high standards and good quality when departing with my hard earned cash. I also do not write blogs like this but on this occasion feel it’s well deserved.

My final point is to thank Ian who runs the company. He was involved at every stage, commercial in his approach and understanding of anything we wanted to change (you don’t always get it right first time).

Huge thanks to the Ruach team who I would have no hesitation in recommending and would certainly use again (if we need another kitchen!)

We had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted in out first house in 2001. So we went back to Ruach. Very professionally done and we are delighted with it. Many thanks to all who have been involved with our kitchen. It was great to meet Ian and James again. Honourable mention to Violet who came up with the original design that we tweaked with Ian. The pop up socket is great.

Very impressed with both the quality of staff and their professionalism. The company majors on designing a kitchen that is right for you and takes time listening to what you are after before coming up with several selections & refining your requirements. Both the designers we had working on our plan were excellent & took a great deal of pride (and enjoyment) in getting it right. After ordering we were then passed onto an excellent project manager who ensured that the job went through as smoothly as possible and was readily available to answer questions & queries. The fitters were also very impressive and again took pride in the work they did, ensuring that the fitting was of a very high quality. We are delighted with the result & would recommend Ruach very highly. Hope you enjoy your kitchen as much as we do ours.

Violet is an exceptionally talented designer who helped design and refurbish our kitchen/dining area following installation of a boiler unit. She managed the entire process professionally and promptly. Violet took into account our budget constraints and accommodated where possible to keep the cost sensible. The service from Ruach Kitchens was superb. From design stage with Amy (who was wonderful) through to install/fitting of the kitchen everything was handled with efficiency and professionalism. Everyone I dealt with was an expert in their own right and made the whole experience a pleasure leaving me with a truly spectacular kitchen. All my family and friends say “wow!!!!” when they first see the results. Highly recommend Ruach. You can’t go wrong.

I wanted my dream kitchen for many years, and found it at Ruach Kitchens. I had a good idea of the plan and design I wanted, but the design that Violet came up with far exceeded that. I found her very knowledgable and gave us brilliant advice on colours, not only for the kitchen units, but also the room too. The units were expertly installed in 5 days and the fitter could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a delay in the arrival of the hob, which was not Ruach's fault, but they bent over backwards to help locate one and installed it as soon as it arrived. I am very pleased with my kitchen, and it is, indeed, the kitchen of my dreams!

I had put off my new kitchen for so long as I was dreading the disruption it would cause, had I realised the service I would get from Ruach I would not have waited that long. Nothing was too much trouble , and the service from everyone was first class. Neil and James who fitted the kitchen made an excellent job of it, and were neat and tidy , making sure everything was perfect. They even sorted an issue with my washing machine which was supplied from somewhere else. I cannot speak highly enough of the overall experience, with Helena following up on all those things that sometimes take longer than expected (particularly in lockdown!). A fantastic experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Superb strip out and total build of new kitchen by Ruach Kitchens. After reviewing plans from several bespoke kitchen specialists we went with Ruach. The quality from start to finish has been impeccable. From initial discussions to rendered plans that we were able to nuance to our exact taste and then to the build and completion, the attention to detail, use of creative solutions and ability to create a bespoke kitchen to our requirements was impressive. Ruach Kitchens delivered on time, to spec and ensured the stress levels were kept to a minimum and agreed budget and timeframes were never exceeded. The quality of the fit and build is impressive, with real attention to detail. I have had several other contractors ask who did this work and if they were available on a freelance basis! Take a bow Neil.

We genuinely have the best kitchen we have ever seen or could ever want and it did not break the bank! All that said, Ruach were unable to resolve the challenge of sourcing and fitting an extractor hood for our sloping ceiling and the hunt goes on!

Ruach / the lovely Tilly @ Ruach designed our kitchen in Q4 2018. My husband checked out the quality of their kitchens in their lovely showroom in Westerham and was impressed. We had a fairly good idea on the design we wanted but Tilly listened and really went all out to get us what we wanted. She listened to our budget and worked to that whichever really helped as we did not have spare cash. She choose appliances giving thought to the life we lead and what appliances we should spend more on and for what reason. I was so impressed on my first visit to their premises- they have a great team who are all about making the customer felt heard and welcomed. They were equally nice to our dog, making sure he had water and was fussed upon. Our experience was great from start to finish and I am so glad as we really wanted to support a local business. Our kitchen was completed just before Christmas and is amazing. Thanks to all at Ruach but especially Tilly.

I looked at a lot of both bespoke kitchen providers and the usual high street shops. Ruach were on a different level. Ian visited me at home and adopted a much more holistic view of the kitchen design taking into account the space, usability, my preferences for how I like to do things and the overall look that I wanted to achieve. I had a really awkward space I wanted to make full use of and his suggestions were really intuitive and the resulting design is fantastic. Fitting was carried out very efficiently, tidily and the finished kitchen is amazing. During the fit I raised a few issues and they were sorted no problem. I would recommend to anyone and plan on using them again for my next design.

Best service available in my opinion. I spent 12mths getting my design just right and it was never a problem to make changes. I had a long covid delay after ordering in March as mobalpa is made in France, but I was kept updated throughout and the install started exactly as predicted. I did have some hiccups during install which I believe could have been a show stopper for less competent companies, but thanks to the skill and expertise of Neil these were resolved with no fuss. I would also recommend if your choosing natural stone worktops to take a trip to the supplier and pick out your slabs to avoid any inconsistency when fitted. I wouldn’t put my money anywhere else after using these guy’s. I’m a fussy person but I can honestly say I was quite happy for the guys to just get on with it. I was quoted 20k at howdens for my kitchen, incl trade discount, but no worktops and no fitting. All done at Ruach it was 30k, incl 6k on worktops and quality fitted with exceptional service. Thanks to all the team at Ruach, highly recommended.

My wife and I used Ian and his team just over 12 months ago for a full refit of our kitchen.

Work included replacing the ceiling, floor, all the electrics and plumbing before any cabinets went back in.

Right from the start the whole team at Ruach impressed. Ian spent a good couple of hours at our house sketching out some freehand designs before we settled on a draft. Thereafter a 3D and birds eye view CAD was produced for us to give the final approval on. All of the measuring up was done right at the outset too.

The agreed CAD resulted in a competitive quote and an initial deposit was paid.

Work took just under 3 weeks with a tail off at the end whilst the laser measured worktops were fabricated.

A year on the kitchen still looks like new and this is really where attention to detail and craftsmanship come in.

We couldn't be more pleased and would absolutely recommend Ruach to anyone considering a new kitchen!

A huge thank you to Josh, Violet, Ben and the fitters, and everyone else at Ruach who helped to design, install and finalise our kitchen.

Even with the deadline of a global pandemic working against us you were able to get us fully functioning with worktops before the big lockdown. I hope Ben’s hands have recovered from all the anti-bac he had to use.

The decorating is finally finished, the blinds are on the way and it looks fantastic.

Our kitchen needed imaginative design input because of unusual angles and corners. The solution that Ruach gave us provided the 'wow' factor by adapting the standard components in a bespoke way with exceptional skill in execution. We love the finished result which is clean and contemporary.

This is the third time we have 'done a kitchen' in a new house and the service from start to finish from Ruach has been head and shoulders above the national companies we have used before. Can't fault them from concept to completion. Fitter went above and beyond what we expected and the office staff have kept us well informed throughout the process. Top notch!
