The Bishop's Table

ordered a Chai Latte, a carrot cake, and a cookie: everything was good and tasty. The waitresses were nice, and the service was quite fast. I loved the table next to the window, offering a beautiful view of the Palace and the Garden from a cozy warm seat.

Beautiful day out, steeped in history, follow in the footsteps of the worn treads made by people since the 1200's a fantastic place for the devout or to marvel at the wonder of the stonemasons and craftsmen in days of yore

Quality food and drinks, friendly helpful staff, quick and efficient service.

Wonderful setting and lovely food. The best veggie burger I have ever had. The view to the cathedral isn't bad too.

Nice cafe. Good hot drinks and sensibly priced selection of sandwiches given its location. Plenty of seating and free glasses of water.

Love this place, we only ever go for tea and cake, but I'm gluten free and they have numerous amazing gluten free cakes so I'm happy.

Best place for lockdown takeaway coffee - excellent - and access to the beautiful Palace gardens. Favourite place.

There is only binary "mens" and "womens" toilets here (plus accessible loo) but was pleasantly surprised that there was a sign in the "mens" toilets offering sanitary products. Great to see such inclusivity in rural Somerset. Thank you for making me feel included. 💙

Great place for our cycle group to stop. Bit pricey but it is a nice location.

Lively and popular place for coffee, cream teas, cake, or full lunch. Local produce used and tasty menu. A must for me is being dog friendly and that is certainly the case. You can sit in or outside in the sunny garden overlooking the Bishops Palace.

First visit since lockdowns and thought it much improved. Seating, menu and quality of food and increased selection. Plenty of gluten free options too.

Surprisingly good cafe. We had sandwiches and a couple of ploughman’s lunches and the bread was fabulous. We would definitely have lunch here again.

Very pleasantly surprised. The food was of a much higher standard than I expected here and the price really reasonable. The Cider with Ginger in was really good!

Lunches not available today as chefs were given time off after a busy Easter weekend! However, cakes and pastries were available.

Picturesque grounds set in englands smallest city. On saturdays and wednesdays there is a market in the square adjacent to the bishops palace. Plenty of shopping in the compact flat city center. 3 wells , natural springs bubble up. 1 in the market square and 2 in the bishops palace. A cafe is also close by and is very reasonable on cost and menu. Ideal location for all ages with plenty of space for kids to burn off energy. Only a few minutes walk from princess street coach park. A quaint thing is the spring water runs down the main street gutter all day 365 days a year. Another must see is the cathedral next to the bishops palace.

Great location to have breakfast looking at the grandeur of the Bishop's Palace. High quality meal, reasonable price and good service.
