Plas Gwyn

We moved my mother in law here from another home due to some issues we were having. From the start, management were very forthcoming and welcoming. They laid out our options and even let us come to look around at different times. Stefan, in particular made us feel very at ease. All the staff we encountered were smiley, friendly and couldn’t do enough to make her, and us feel at home. The person centred care she receives is next to none and the setting just makes it.
She enjoys her time there and is happy, we also enjoy coming to visit, what a difference to the other home, Plas Gwyn really, for us, has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. No problem too big or small is a hindrance, and Stefan has been on the other end of phone calls and emails whenever we’ve needed him. Making big decisions such as these shouldn’t be taken lightly and the staff there understand that. They have gone above and beyond for us, and have really put us at ease, knowing that she is getting the best care possible from staff that are genuinely kind and caring.
I would 100% recommend going to have a look at plas gwyn to see for yourself, if you are thinking of a home for a loved one.

I have just had the good fortune to secure a place for my sister
at Plas Gwyn. The help that i had from the manager from the first contact to her moving in was outstanding .
My sister was in a care home in Essex, two members of the care team and manager collected her as i was not able to make the journey .Upon arriving at Plas Gwyn she was made very welcome
having already become familiar with the team.
My first comment from my sister was i feel rich !! she has been so well looked after settling in have been no problem .

Lovely home and welcoming staff ☺

The staff at Plas Gwyn who directly look after the vulnerable residents do a good job, but are woefully understaffed. This is reflected in high levels of staff turnover, including two managers leaving in a period of 8 months and not being able to recruit. This clearly points very much to the arrogant owner family, who have no respect for the residents, the family of residents and treat property belonging to residents in a such an appalling way, that it made me feel physically sick when I collected the final piece of ruined furniture from there today, which had been stored outside in the rain and will take much time and effort to restore.
Fortunately the majority of the residents at Plas Gwyn do not possess the mental capacity to see how the owner treats them as simple revenue streams.
If you have a choice, choose somewhere else for your relative to stay, or if considering to work here, think again these employers are toxic and have nothing but self interest at heart.
My mother is now being cared for elsewhere, which she thanks the Lord Jesus for answering her prayers.

Level of care has sadly deteriorated - in part due to lack of staff, and in part due to absent management. Individual carers are great (shout out to Anne) but since the departure of the general manager many months ago (Glenda, who was also great) it has gradually and consistently gotten worse.
All the good will and intention in the world doesn't matter when the effect on patients and their families is sub-par. Lack of respect for others is hard to excuse.

The owners of this 'care' home should be ashamed of themselves. Do not choose this 'care' home for your loved ones.
