UPDATE, called in here again at the weekend, all of a sudden now, things like peas, salad and coleslaw that used to come included are charged extra, had to pay an extra £1.50 for egg on my Gammon steak, £2+ for peas, can't remember the extra cost for the salad and coleslaw but after that experience I don't think I'll be returning, shame as it was always a good place to eat.

PREVIOUSLY: Always good food and friendly staff, popped in for dinner for our wedding anniversary, lovely meal as usual, generous portions and well cooked, no complaints, would definitely recommend 👌

I returned for Sunday Lunch and with all honesty Facebook need a six star rating for the Black Lion, service and staff. I left with tears in my eye's. Four star on the atmosphere, bbc news.

Driving from the Midlands to New Quay, called in on the off chance of a spot of lunch. Exactly what we were looking for . Friendly and professional young chap behind the bar and immaculately clean. Nice selection of meals to choose off the menu. The food came quickly , was piping hot and delicious . Simply hearty pub grub at an affordable price. Well behaved dog friendly, which was a bonus.
We will be back .

My partner and I were here for our friends wedding reception, it is a beautiful pub with a lovely cosy atmosphere. They laid on the food for the reception and it was amazing, a hot and cold buffet with lots of choice and plenty of it. We were that impressed we went back the following afternoon for Sunday lunch,which was also very nice. I can highly recommend , We will be back !

Nice food, friendly staff, reasonably priced, plenty of parking. Definitely worth a visit. Falafel burger was lovely. If I was I'm the area would stop in again.

Very lovely traditional pub. Hosts/owners very nice. Perfect meals 2 x Gammon and Rump Steak. Wished I'd have tipped more as well deserved!!

So glad we came across this pub. The food was absolutely 💯 👌. Would have given 10 out of 10. Service, food everything top notch. Thank you to the staff. So helpful.

The food was excellent. Reception very welcoming. Landlord went the extra mile to give us all the sauces.
It was quite expensive but because of all of the above, I was happy to pay, having had value for money.

Had the beef stew off the specials board. The beef was lovely and tender and plentiful. The staff were very polite and attentive. Great place to stop for lunch.

We have a lovely dinner. Nice food and great size for a good price. Lovely and friendly staff

Stopped here half way through a long drive. Tired, hungry and generally fed up. We were greeted with a very warm welcome for us and our dogs. Lovely food and the best burger I have ever had. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Lovely garden with swings, slide and space for children to run about after a long drive. Will definitely be calling again on our way home.

Was served by the Irish gentleman,he was very polite and courteous. The facilities are very well looked after and it's a lovely pub. Beer garden is dog friendly with plenty of water for them. 2 sets of swings and slides to keep the youngsters happy. Definitely would recommend A++

Really enjoyed my meal here. It was my mums birthday, the staff put a candle in her Christmas pudding and sang happy birthday. It was lovely.
Would definitely go again

Attended wedding reception 23rd March. Staff were amazing they all worked very hard, food was exceptional 👌 👏

Lovely warm welcoming staff food and drink spot on ,outside beer garden off road parking would highly recommend a visit if staying local or pop in if just passing, the pepper and tomatoe soup was spot on.

Rarely i fail to finish my meal, but The Black Lion Burger beat me. Food was great, happy and polite survice, would definatley reccomend

Lovely pub nice staff and great food 👍 just the portions too big for my tummy ! Nice outdoor area with lovely views of the hills 🙂
