Close proximity to Ainsdale train station this is is a 2 roomed bar with a good selection of beers. 2 cask beers which change weekly and can have 3 on. Large selection of spirits and mixers. Friendly knowledgeable staff with an exceptionally pleasant and bar manager who was extremely passionate about the bar. Large bar area with seating at the abr and against the wall and a large back room with multiple seating areas and tables. Very nice touch with fresh sandwiches prepared locally available on the bar at certain times. Will certainly pay another visit.

On a warm summers evening this is a nice place to visit. The staff are friendly and approachable. Service was quick. The area to the rear of the bar is a pleasant surprise and I can see this being popular in the winter. A nice addition to the village.

A lovely pet friendly bar which I was welcomed and so was my pet. Lovely decor, friendly staff and just a nice place to be.

What a find! We stumbled across this place after a walk from Formby to Ainsdale. Super friendly staff, dig friendly, great beer. What more could you want?

We always call in here after a walk on Ainsdale Beach. It's become a bit of a tradition. Lovely Friendly Staff and Dog Friendly.

What a really fab little bar in Ainsdale! The lovely Elaine looked after us so well and the amazing sandwiches were so good too. Grayson's does the food and its amazing. I had an amazing roast dinner the other lunchtime too.

I'm in Ainsdale house sitting and looking after a fab dog can't wait until the next time.

Held a surprise birthday party in the back room. Food plentiful and excellent choices. Impressed with everything. Staff brilliant. Lee, Sue and husband went above and beyond in helpfulness and hospitality. Bar staff friendly and professional. Brilliant evening. Well done everyone.

Such a great night with my friends here on a random Thursday. Sue was behind the bar and totally looked after us. She was hilarious, attentive, always on the ball with knowing our drinks etc. The complimentary sandwiches were an AMAZING touch. Never bothered going out for food and stayed drinking instead !! Top bar / top drinks / top staff !!! Well done “Golden Monkey” ! Can’t wait till next time ;)

A brilliant addition to Ainsdale village. The Golden Monkey is an essential visit if you value quality service, an excellent range of beverages and a cosy, friendly atmosphere.

The cask ales are constantly rotating and reflect the best products from many of the North West's artisan breweries. They are also extremely well-maintained by the cellar team, meaning you get to taste the beer as the brewer intended which is something you don't easily find in today's world.

Highly recommended.

Awesome spot and Elaine is the best host. Just popped out for a drink before last orders and ended up having a great time! Highly recommend this place, chilled, friendly and a real community vibe.

7 of us visited yesterday. Sue and her 'photo-bombing' team were so welcoming. Well recommended.

Great bar, which I stumbled on by accident looking for somewhere to watch Liverpool v Chelsea Carabao Cup final. Made to feel really welcome by customers and staff, couple of screens to watch different games when needed.

Great location from railway station,lovely lady sorted our drinks,bought sandwiches next door,they share eating out space.

Love the Monkey - great real ales, always a fabulous atmosphere - live sport and Al fresco supping.. what's not to like 5⭐
