Awesome place with awesome hosts. Cabins are top notch. Clean, well presented. All the mod cons. There's a small park for kids. Plenty of walks and things to do nearby. Close to the local village for shopping. The hosts Lisa & Maria could not be more helpful. Anything and everything is no trouble for them at all. Fast response to any problem (of which I personally I had none)

If you're in the area and looking for a cabin retreat this is the place to go. I really couldn't recommend it more

I've stayed here on a few occasions. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tubs are private and undercover so what ever they weather it doesn't matter. The rooms are lovely and beds are really comfortable. Lovely wildlife birds squirrels. It's not far from a small village and pubs if you wish to go for lunch. We had Indian delivered one night which was lovely. Maria always makes us feel welcomed. We have booked again for November and next February already can't wait.

Spur of the moment booking, was just up the road.
Checking in was easy, Maria met us and showed us the lodge, it was really clean and nicely furnished not too much to take away from the wood cabin feel.
Hot rub was nice and warm.
The bed was really comfy and bathroom was clean and tidy. Shower was good pressure and nice and hot.
Maria was the only staff we met and she was helpful and polite, had a fee good chats. Credit to the site. Will def stay there again
👍👍👍

We stayed here 3/10/21. I'm going to just come straight out and say it was perfect. It was a little honeymoon for us. Lodge 10, was spotless.. The hot tub was lush. The weather was atrocious, but the hot tub was undercover, which was fab. So peaceful. Would love to bring our 2 young children here in the summer. We booked last minute and we were so lucky to get in as this place is super popular. Maria is so lovely, we had a bit of fuss made as it was our honeymoon... Balloons, bunting, chocolate and some fizz and a card. How nice is that. You could be anywhere in the world.

Small and peaceful site. Highly recommended for couples or small families with children who are happy to entertain themselves. Slightly away from the usual tourist areas but has a small town with some cafés etc within a 10 minute walk. 14 lodges in total, all private and the hot tubs are secluded so nobody can see you. If you are lucky enough to get great weather like us then lodges 7 to 15 get the most amount of sunshine. We stayed in 14 (owl lodge) and had sunshine all day long. Lodges are clean and tidy and contain all the basic essentials (apart from a toaster which would be nice). The site promotes itself as a peaceful retreat and has a strict noise policy so if you are looking for anything remotely lively I would look elsewhere, if you want peace and quiet and to escape from it all then this could be the place for you. Please note we bought our 7 year old and he did enjoy it, made some friends etc it would just be more suited to couples.
Maria is lovely and helpful, happy to recommend trips out etc.

We visit at least once a year and we live less than 2 miles away. It's quiet and secluded and once your there you feel like you could be anywhere.

We've had two wonderful stays at Heronstone this year. Lovely clean cabins with a hot tub. I particularity like it here as it's very peaceful and the service is first class. Maria went above and beyond, she couldn't be anymore helpful. We would definitely recommend 😊

Visited between 1st November and 5th November. Perfect getaway. Lodges were clean, warm, and cosy. Hot tub was very hot, and it stayed hot! (Some hot tubs cool down fast in colder temperatures). If your undecided to visit I would say just book it. Perfect for a quiet getaway from it all.

A brilliant place to visit. Lodges, are clean and comfortable and reasonably priced.

The site itself is very quiet, and is a great launch pad to visit local points of interest.

And if your into wildlife, there are plenty of birds and squirrels to enjoy. I always bring some extra bread with me to feed them.

To sum up, if you're looking for a relaxing getaway, Heronstone Lodges is an ideal place to stay.

Staying here for a week, our lodge is amazing. It's just the right size for the 2 of us. The hot tub is well worth it, especially after a long walk. It's very peaceful and private from your neighbours. It's a shame it's only a week, will be looking at dates for next year

Loved spending the weekend here. There was a lodge available which i saw through a third party website but it wasnt working, so i thought I'll call heronstone lodge myself. Maria was very kind and helpful and booked us the last available lodge. We were so lucky to have a lodge with a hot tub. We have been searching for it for a long time with a decent price and we were so lucky to have one booked last minute as all the lodges were fully booked.

The stay was amazing, so peaceful and quiet and had everything close by. The lodge was clean and tidy and the hot tub just topped it up, great for after a long walk. We had a shower head that started to leak and we contacted steve which he replaced it as soon as possible.

Thank you Maria and Steve for everything. We enjoyed our weekend very much. Will definitely recommend this lodge to family and friends. 😁

Absolutely loving it here already. Maria is a lovely, kind lady who goes above and beyond to ensure our comfort. She keeps the children and families on site safe with CCTV and warning us not to give codes out etc, which relieves anxiety when the children want to play with the friends they have already made, in the beautiful play area! She gave me loads of recommendations of family friendly places to visit, warned us on the different laws over here with covid so we don't land a fine! She talked us through how to use everything and even left chocolate for the kids! She's wonderful. We have once been here one day as a family of 4 and are throughly impressed ❤

Stayed here a twice now and will be back. The lodges are situated in a beautiful and peaceful opening of trees yet just outside the heart of Ystradgynlais - but within walking distance if you are OK with hills. Great view of the stars on a clear night and nice and quiet. A great option to stay if you want to visit Ystradgynlais - I grew up here so i should know. Will be my first choice next time i come down to visit my family.

Great place for a weekend getaway. Weather was awful the weekend we were there but while in the hot tub you don't have a care in the world. Free WiFi on site but was intermittent and slow, ended up using my phone data. Over all a great weekend, if you want to get away from the normality of life, give this place a try!

Great place, very warm welcome from Steve on arrival. Spotless accommodation clean to a high standard. Complimentary wine and chocolate were a lovely touch. Very quiet and peaceful. Will return for another short break.

Spent the weekend here before lockdown happened. I honestly didn't want to leave!

I now see why they have such good ratings/reviews. The value for money is great! The hosts are warm and welcoming, a real credit to the place.

We were contactlessly checked in to our cabin, which was clean, tidy, well equipped, extremely spacious and just felt very secluded!

The private hot tub really is the icing on the cake here, you genuinely feel cut off from the world just looking out in to the distance hearing nothing but birds chirping. It actually for a split second, made you forget the carnage that was happening out in the real world. Which is exactly what we were looking for. As 2 x self employed business owners, we were fully aware of the possible effects of the next few months and just needed to somewhere to try and forget about it for a while and relax. This place gave us just that.

We've stayed in a few places similar to this, but Heronstone tops the chart for sure.
It ticks every single box. Up by the cabin, you feel miles away from everything, it's so peaceful. But you're actually within walking distance to anything you could possibly need!
Several supermarkets within a 5-10 min drive.
Lots of fantastic walks and countryside whichever way you head.

I can't wait to visit this place again when I just need somewhere to relax, unwind and step back got a while.

A top job all round by Steve, Maria and the staff.

See you soon guys and stay safe!

Oh my gosh, where do I start!! What an amazing place. A lovely welcome by Steve, nice bottle of fizz and chocolate waiting with bath robes. A real home from home, everything you need for a fab relaxation break. Hot tub is awesome and the site is so peaceful with plenty of wildlife. Really loved sitting on the front porch at twilight and watch the bats flit about! Tescos or asda are a 10 min drive for provisions and there is a small village about 15 min walk, plenty of cafes or a couple of decent pubs for food.
Can't wait to go back

My boyfriend and I stayed in Jay VIP 002 last weekend to celebrate our 1st year together and I cannot thank Heronstone Lodges enough for making it an incredible weekend to remember. The grounds and lodges are immaculate and the staff were very friendly. Upon arrival we were able to go straight to our lodge and let ourselves in before Steve popped in to tell us about the features and how the hot tub worked. Afterwards we were left to ourselves with complete privacy (save for the hot tub water check in the morning but this never interrupted us) although Steve highlighted that if we needed anything to give him a call.

I was so touched to find that the lodge had been decorated specially for our anniversary with heart bunting, rose petals, and a banner along with a bottle of bubbly and some chocolates. It was such a lovely thing to be welcomed too especially as I had only mentioned the occasion in passing via Facebook message.

The lodge itself had everything we could possibly want for our little weekend getaway (including a table top fan for the warmer parts of the day). I was pleased to find some decent sized mugs too (I need a bucket of tea to wake up in the morning!) so hadn’t needed to bring my own. The bed was comfy and the sheets and towels smelled incredible (we want to know what fabric softener they use!) and oh my goodness the power shower was heaven!

We loved being able to take a walk to the local village to pick up some bits and explore but also found just hanging out at the lodge in the gorgeous sunshine and enjoying the BBQ and the hot tub to be just as fun. We really lucked out on the weather but even if it had rained the entire time I think we still would have had a great time hanging out at the lodge and using the hot tub as it is covered and lovely and warm!
One suggestion we would have is to notify guests on where to find the instructions for the oven (as it has no markings) as we spent about 10 minutes trying to find it on Google before giving up and testing each knob...then I found the instructions in a pack under the TV haha! A little shop on site of essentials and food items would also be great for when we’re feeling too lazy to leave the lodge!

Overall we had a fantastic time and it was so romantic, peaceful, and relaxing. We cannot wait to visit again soon - Heronstone Lodges certainly has a special place in our hearts now and you can really tell how much passion and effort the owners put in to making each and every stay memorable.
