MASONS Craft Shop

Make sure you go to the right shop! They have three different stores in Abingdon at two different locations and they all sell very different things.

Love the selection of fabrics and the prices are appropriate! Totally worth the bus journey from Oxford.

I went in to get material for a dress to attend a wedding. It was obvious I needed some help. One of the ladies came over, helped me look for a pattern, advised on material widths and types. I left with some really lovely material and a great, but simple pattern. I couldn't be happier.

Visited the material shop for a pattern and material, buttons, ribbon and elastic. Huge range in a small shop. Freindly helpful staff. A gold mine for sewers!

What an Aladdin's Cave. Round every corner there is more and more to tempt any sewer. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. If you are after any sewing items, head here.

This is one of my favourite shops in the whole of the UK. They are pretty traditional and give EXCELLENT customer service. The range of fabrics and cotton prints can be overwhelming almost at times, and I never fail to be inspired when I go there. They also have 2 other amazing shops in the town, a haberdashery and art supplies shop next door, and a wool/yarn shop nearby.

Brilliant fabric shop with amazing staff; was stood paralysed by the choice of buttons when a lovely lady came to my rescue and even 'talked' me out of buying too much fabric for what I was making.
It's about 90 minutes away from where I live but fully thinking it's worth the journey (aided by the fact Abingdon is very nice too)

Masons is unique in my view, in the last few weeks I have had scrubs material and pattern, satin for dressmaking, fabric for bag making with all the notions of thread etc. not to mention several balls of wool and needles sent to me or picked up as a "click and collect". Thanks to John, Allison, Simon and all the staff involved for keeping an elderly lady happily busy.

Seriously the best fabric and other material shop around Oxford. Wish could go there more often. Love the various offers and friendly stuff.

Always a delight - all the Masons shops are well stocked, with a huge range of fabrics, haberdashery, wool and craft materials - I always find things I never knew I needed, and come away with far more than planned. Enormously helpful staff - if the range of fabrics is daunting, just ask and someone will go searching and find what you are after. At a time when dressmaking and craft shops have largely disappeared, Masons is a gem.

Best fabric shop in Oxfordshire! Packed full with a lovely variety of fabrics and the staff there are so friendly and helpful- my dress will now be 10 times better with their advice! Good prices and way cheaper than John Llewis. Definitely recommend.

It may be cramped but it is packed to the rafters with lovely fabrics at great prices. There are separate branches selling craft materials and knitting wools & curtain fabrics. The main shop has quilting fabrics as well as fabrics for dressmaking. The staff are great.

Masons is an amazing Aladdin's cave for dressmakers and craft enthusiasts. The range is huge and staff knowledgable. Their other shopsnext door sells everything craft from cake making to ribbons and in Sturt St there is a soft furnishings, knitting and crotche shop. Don't miss these independent gems.

The 3 Mason's shops are 3 of the best things about Abingdon! Lots of fabric, patterns, embellishments, yarn, and crafting kit, and knowledgeable staff. And they're independent!

The person who posts that the stock "is just piled high and cramped" is so missing the point that it beggars belief - please take your trade elsewhere, there are surely thousands of outlets that cater for your tastes, and leave this gem for others to enjoy. Mason's is a wonderful treasure trove, and the staff are delightful - don't change anything.

Masons is unique to Abingdon. The staff know their stuff and there is always someone to help you. No question is too small. They have plenty of stock and you can buy one off's of things.
A really traditional place!

This has to be the best haberdashery I have EVER been in; all the more extraordinary because there are so few independent haberdashers left these days. 100 out of 10! WELL worth a journey to visit. If they don't have something to suit, it probably doesn't exist :)
