Crystal Grotto

Original and great looking grotto. Went specifically to see it. Took lovely photos and I am thinking it would be a great background for a photographer photoshoot. Lights placed cleverly. We went on a bright day so that was a bonus to see crystal playing with the natural light

An amazing place at Painshill and quite close location to London. Free parking to this lovely park.Near to the entrance have a lovely coffee/tea room. It’s big spectacular park ,fascinating by the charm of the nature ,lakes ,gardens and monuments.Open fields and a vineyard top off the gorgeous views from the ridge of the hill and a wonderful Crystal Grotto cave ,created by German landscape designer Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell (1750 – 1823).The scented meadows and unparalleled colors displayed by the naturalness of the area leave you breathless. It is a place that can be visited almost any time, where you find a family atmosphere,joyful and good vibes. We was completely amazed and filled with wonder at this beauty.

Stunning place! A fun day out in any season. £10 entrance but truly worth the price.

We booked the ticket in advance and reached there around 1pm. We spend 4 hours in park. It was really beautiful and weather was nice so it was totally worth it.
Cave was marvellous. We found its a man made so was a bit disappointed. Overall our experience was great and would love to visit it again

Beautiful place even while there were some rain showers. Lots of walking but plenty of seating and the views were amazing.

This has got to be the best way to experience the 18C way to amaze your guests in a garden ever. Over the years of visiting I have seen the painstaking efforts required to restore the grotto to the current condition. It looks fabulous and is quite an experience. The other set pieces in the garden are great, but the grotto is amazing.

The Crystal Grotto is a beautiful man made cave, it's inserted on the Painshill park, so you must buy a ticket to the park to visit the grotto. Very peaceful when we went, few people around and a staff member was present. Be aware it's closed on Mondays.

Beautiful views all around the park... grt plc to just relax n hv a picnic... A great way to relax if u luv nature...

Excellent tourist attraction at Painshill park. It is a man-made crystal cave and we loved the place.

Stunning man-made cave with thousands of crystals painstakingly applied to create a mesmerising grotto. Illuminated inside, so easy to walk through without a light. Openings in the wall give views out to the lake. The grotto closes earlier than the rest of the park, and isn't open on Mondays - check the Painshill website to ensure it'll be open when you plan to visit as it's a real highlight of the park.

Painshill park is beautiful, secluded from the noisiness you hear in cities and so while visiting you hear nothing but the birds tweeting (not the twitter version) and the wind rustling through the leaves.

The crystal grotto, though man made is spectacularly beautiful and in the right light the shine from the crystals is mesmerising.

Sparkly crystal caves - our littleuns loved it. Its basically a pretty impressive cave structure, pimped up to the max with glued on white rocks, and nicely placed lighting. Lots of well considered views out to the lake too - takes about 5 mins to experience

The atmosphere is very relaxing in this park. The Crystal Grotto is just and amazing place to visit, also the whole place is absolutely recommended to do by walk so you can spend your time actively on fresh air while you can see the beauty of this place.
Outside the area (park) there's a parking lot for cars and coaches.
The entrance to the park costs £8 per an adult person which gives you access to the whole park.
But you have to mind that the Crystal Grotto has limited opening times for safety reasons and usually it's opened between 11:00-15:00.

The Crystal Grotto is probably the highlight of Painshill Park. The intricate detail with which it has been constructed is incredible. During summer there's often a staff member on hand to give you the background and history of the place. In addition there are often special events held here during the year for members such as Halloween evenings.

Amazing, great place to bring the children.
