Our dog was originally referred to North Downs in November for further tests. The care given to him was the best we could’ve asked for. When unfortunately we found out his illness was due to cancer the care and empathy that was shown towards him especially from Susannah made a stressful situation so much easier.

After a big operation to remove the tumour we got passed to the oncology team and under the care of Michael . We then found out we didn’t have long left with our beautiful boy but got five extra months with him.

Last week he declined. North Downs fitted us in quickly and was seen straight away. After a further scan we had to make the heart-breaking decision to let him go. The care shown from Michael was amazing and the final moments we got with him to say our goodbyes was done with the greatest empathy.

Thank you North Downs and the staff for looing after my beautiful boy who was so loved and is so missed.

Was referred on Thursday after my cat had a near fatal emergency.

From the moment we arrived until he was returned to us on Sunday they have been amazing. I had daily updates update his condition and next steps and they even built him a cat fort from cardboard to hide in and help him relax as he can be a bit anxious!

I can't recommend them highly enough. The staff are great, hospital is immaculate and the facilities are top notch.

I now have a happy (sleepy) cat back with me. A big thank you to everyone involved!

We cant thank the Vet, nursing staff and all the staff at North Downs enough. We had to put our little cat to sleep last week and we were treated with such kindness and attention.
Everyone was very caring and that made a big difference to us on our little boys last goodbye.
Thank you to all the lovely staff for all your care and support. Thank you for looking after our little Tyson so well.❤

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for which helped us considering the reason we had travelled so far. Katherine was amazing - so knowledgeable yet at same time had tremendous empathy as she clearly talked us through the prognosis in terminology we understood. She was brilliant with Misty too and made her feel loved and relaxed which helped us so much in turn. We did not feel at all rushed and just one of a number which was very special considering Katherine was having to share news which was very upsetting to say the least. We felt so at home to the extent that we asked her if we could bring misty back to her when we have to sat goodbye. Thank you all so much and even the cup of tea which we were offered as I was a blubbering mess trying to sort out the payment !!

Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The waiting area was spotless and didn't smell despite the many patients waiting. Vet Fiona was brilliant with our kitten and explained everything to us in detail but not in an overwhelming way. Sadly, the investigation is not over, but I have no doubt our next visit will be another good experience

I wanted to jump on here to leave a review because it was the first thing I checked when our dog, Eva, got referred to NDSR. When you're going through a stressful and uncertain time, there is no better team to be referred to. Everyone we've had contact with over the past two weeks, from the lovely receptionists to doctor Inge Keens (dermatologist) and Katherine Smallwood (oncology) have been exceptional at communicating clearly, and treating our little Eva with so much care to the extent that her little tail was wagging yesterday when we went for a follow-up, which tells me that the time she spent in the hospital (even when we weren't there) wasn't traumatic for her. I want to thank the whole team, including the nurses we never saw, but who I know was working behind the scenes to take care of her. Thank you so much! Knowing our little one is on the road to recovery and receiving the best care from these excellent doctors, nurses and administrators has been the greatest comfort to us. Thank you from Eva and her anxious parents. 10/10 recommend - worth every penny.

Amazing place, so much expertise under one roof. Thanks to Susanna and all the nurses, my boy has beaten the odds and survived. Forever grateful for the exceptional care and support. When you walk through the door, you know your pet is a safe as it can be.

Everyone really very pleasant from reception through to the vet staff. Our cat Spud was in for root canal work on a chipped tooth. We'd have a 5 hr wait, the vet gave us a prepared list of places locally to eat and visit whilst we were waiting, great idea!. On our return, we were briefed on what was done, and we were given a report with x rays of before and after. Overall they did a great job, fortunately our pet insurance covered the cost.

My four-year-old German Shepherd was diagnosed with juvenile cataracts. Northdowns have done an amazing job at treating him and I am so grateful for the amazing treatment he’s received after my boy has fully recovered from his surgery. I shall be having his hips done as well at North Downs.

This place is second to none. The Great Dr Rodolfo is an amazingly beautiful talented man - as are Maria, Hannah, Daniella, Dan, Becky, to name just a few I remember and am aware of - thank you all.

NDSR's motto of Committed to Excellence, isn't just a motto!

Emily and I know.

Thank you, Rodolfo and team. Xx

Edit: Photos added - Emily thanks you too.

Richard was extremely thorough with checking the eyes of our dalmation Jess. He explained the results of tests and we left with Jess feeling relieved and happy. She will need a further check in 3 months. The 2 nurses in the consulting room were very good with Jess as she is nervous. Definitely recommend North Downs Specialist. Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. Thank you.

I brought my 13 month old Labrador Storm in with breathing issue, she is a sensitive pup and I was feeling apprehensive about the whole situation however Fiona was brilliant, she kept me updated regularly with storms progress before and after the op, she went above and beyond in helping me understand the reality of storms condition, and what to expect, answering all my questions and advising accordingly.I feel reassured that Storm was well looked after and I can not thank Fiona and her team enough for all they are doing to help make Storm better.
If your pet is in a situation that requires Fiona’s expertise rest assured you are in fantastic hands.

When I booked Jäger in to NDSR I was expecting she’d lose her eye, but she deteriorated so quickly between the booking and the appointment and she ended up being admitted and then, unfortunately, put to sleep. I am still in shock and utterly devastated but comforted by the fact Adam & then Laura were so communicative throughout. It was clear when I paid my final visit that she’d been well cared for and had made an impression. Thank you also to the night vet who oversaw our goodbye - your kindness and affection for her was noticed and appreciated.

Wonderfully experienced and knowledgeable vets here at the referral specialists, made us feel very welcome, comfortable and at ease. Our little 11 year old whippet was well looked after, we were regularly updated and felt he was in the best possible hands. They give you so much information and really break it all down into layman's terms for you. Victoria was wonderful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Wonderful staff, so kind, caring and friendly also very professional and knowledgeable. From the moment we arrived with such warm kind welcome we knew our pet was in good hands. An amazing place full of amazing people who only have your pets welfare in mind. I can't thank them enough for taking care of our cat, during this traumatic time. Its been difficult for us, but made so much easier by all the kind staff, from the receptionists to the Veterinarians all have been wonderful!

The most incredible level of care, i couldn't recommend them enough. A year ago our chihuahua was attacked by a German Shepherd leaving his skull damaged. North Downs performed what we thought was impossible surgery and saved him, hes still with us now and a happy healthy 11yo heartbreaker. Such experts. Thank you all.

To be told there is nothing that can be done for your dog is heart breaking. To know you have to watch your constant companion, your shadow, your saviour, waste away in front of you till you have to make the decision to administer the ultimate kindness is like a knife to the heart; But I hope if you ever ever have to deal with it, you are supported by people as compassionate and dedicated as those that make up NDSR.
When I have to make the decision, I know that Francesca did more than everything she could..... she did everything that my girl needed and deserved, but nothing that was unnecessary, she advised me and respected my opinions and my relationship with my girl.

Thank you for shining a light in this dark part of my life.

Took my cat Billy to see the cardiologist today. Lovely clean, bright reception. Staff very friendly. Joao could not have been nicer. Great with a sensitive moggie, explained everything clearly - outlined the options and I came away armed with knowledge and a plan. Loved that he listened to my story and acknowledged that I know my pet. Billy was fairly impressed to!
