Walked to the pub with two very noisy sausage dogs. Asked if they could come in so I could order a pint, answer yes no problem. Ordered pint dogs doing woof woof woof. I said I'll go outside, answer it's OK you don't need to, brilliant pub. I went out side under aa huge brollie. 5 star service.

Lovely little pub with an open fire. Let us sit inside when it was originally all shut down as we'd been trekking all day and the pint was amazing after walking 8miles in 28c heat!

This was my first ever experience solo camping with my dog. I was anxious as a female camper that I wouldn’t feel safe. I couldn’t have picked a better campsite, the lady at the pub was very friendly and told me where to park and that I could pitch anywhere. I was lucky enough to get a spot right next to the river. I felt very safe, everyone was friendly and there was no noise after curfew! I actually preferred the toilet being in the pub as it was much cleaner, I will definitely be back to stay longer!

Popular place with walking groups and clientele from the two neighbouring campsites. They’ve got WiFi here which is a bonus as there is zero phone reception on the valley. One local ale on tap. Friendly staff. Basic but decent food. Clean toilet. Nice beer garden.

Had another great night with the brilliant crowd @ the Tafarn-y-Garreg last night, thanks to Andy and Caroline for making it so.
PS Demitry was great with his DJ-ing and of course karaoke.

Went to the bar for food whilst in the area. Food was fresh and tasty, and what a homely comfortable atmosphere. Owners were really nice and welcoming too - glad to find this place

Stayed there on Saturday night in the campsite. It is a lovely small site. Lots of fire pits and plenty of wood nearby on the trail. No electricity but was well lit. There is a trail going up to the "lady of the lake" site running up the side. I didn't do it myself as I am very lazy but saw lots of enthusiastic walker's going up. The pub is great. Food was very tasty and you couldn't wish for better staff. The beer was too nice. The benefit of a small site is that everyone mixed well and were really friendly. The river running down the back of the site was great and added to the ambience of roasting marshmallows!

Andy the owner was great company and very very friendly/chatty. The locals were a great crack and what was only meant to be a "quiet pint" turned into a "darn good drink!!!"

I went with my son, brother and nephew. The kids loved playing in the kids park and going on "adventures".

I would recommend this for any family that want to relax and have fun no matter what age!

I will stay there again, definitely.

Probably the most amazing pub I've been to! Wonderful, spirited and lively staff who are most welcoming to all.

You have a great choice of Heineken, Heineken or Heineken.. unless you prefer Heineken 😆 I would highly recommend the Heineken!

Camping is just across the road in a small location surrounded by trees. You can have campfires and there is an amazing shower facility on site as well as a toilet.

As for views, you don't get much better.
Surrounded by mountains and trees, with a lovely river by the side of you, it really is astounding.

I absolutely love this pub, I do a good long walk through the mountains, and this pub is quite literally right at the end of the walk, great beer, cracking little outdoor sitting area

This establishment is fantastic! Well worth the drive if you're anywhere in the proximity. They keep the ales and lines perfect and a pint here should not be missed. I was particularly impressed with the food! Amazing quality and very good prices for what you get. They also have a fantastic homemade dressing we put on the salad and chips which was top notch. Could not recommend this place enough!

As a place to get away we really couldn't have been happier with it. The campsite was tucked away in a small wooded glade next to a river and the surrounding scenery couldn't be beaten. The outdoor shower was particularly enjoyable as the water was heated nicely and offered a good contract from the drizzle on a wet day. We didn't get an opportunity to visit the restaurant for food however we did talk with the owner on a couple of occasions and he made some recommendations that really helped our trip go well.
This is a good basics camping site that relies on you to make the most of it. The adult only notice on pitchup is well deserved as wouldn't be the easiest place to camp with kids.
Also there wasn't any phone signal in the camp, nearest reception was up the mountain next to it. Was nice to switch off for a while.
Would recommend for a weekend break or midweek getaway.

A little gem of a pub.
Built of stone and tucked in defiantly on the lower slopes of the Beacons.
Great Beacons walks from here.
Lovely outside bar and tables for sunny days
Large car park. Camping with facilities.
Restricted opening hours in winter.

We're staying at the camp site and having a fantastic week in the stunning Welsh countryside.
The walks and road cycling routes backing onto the camp spot are stunning.
The river running to the back of the camp site is perfect for washing off your toes following a day in boots
The pub, including staff, is extremely welcoming at the end of the day!
The camp site is dog friendly.
Lighting a camp fire is welcomed!
The sound of running river water helps rock you to sleep.
Not sure you can ask for much more!!

Friendliest pub in the area. We had 32 apprentices on a management residential and when every other pub in the area would not open for us, Andy opened the door with a friendly smile and welcomed us all into his establishment. He ran that pub on his own, but continued to give us a friendly smile and excellent customer service! Would definately recommend to anyone in the area.

What a fab stop off we had as a family. Proper pub Roast in beautiful surroundings, tastefully modernised still keeping all it's charm but immaculate. Warm welcome on arrival and a suprised of the children eating free when paying the bill. We will be back when further exploring the area.

We are all the way from SA and had a long weekend stay in Brecon last week - and we happened upon this gem.
Atmosphere and ambience was exactly what we wanted - relaxed with stunning views.
Beers were perfectly chilled and the food was amazing. Freshly made and absolutely delicious.
Wish we could've made another stop before we left!!!
But will defnitely be back on the next visit to the UK.

Lovely. Stopped for a bite to eat and found a warm welcome by the fire for ourselves and the dog. Lovely food, good selection of drinks.
