I personally have a love for Colossus, but for non enthusiasts, it might be a bit rough. Also, do not recommend for any plus size or people with larger hip spans as the restraints do not allow much room but it is always worth checking the test seat anyway. The theming is great, and the whole area has an amazing charm to it, though.

How To Get A Smooth Ride On Colossus:
First, Queue Up For The Front Row Queue, Located Near The Station. This Can Cause Longer Waits, But It's Worth It. If The Front Row Queue is Closed Off, Then The Front Row Is Either In The Other Queue Or Is Closed Off.
Second, Enjoy Your Ride! You Have Gotten A Smoother RIde On Colossus!

Colossus is my second favourite ride at Thorpe Park. I love that it's a bit of a rough ride... it makes it more fun. Not sure why so many people complain about that, and the size of the seats. If you can't handle it, stay home and eat some more donuts.

Colossus at Thorpe Park is an amazing roller coaster manufactured by Intamin, and incorporating 10 inversions into its long layout it has become one of my favourites in the country. The coaster itself is not too intense reaching a top speed of only 45mph, however what it lacks in intensity it more than makes up for with its exciting elements and environment it works it way through. My personal favourite element is the quadrupole barrel roll which offers a lot of hang time. Colossus has built up a reputation of being rather rough, however I find if you keep your head forward and sit as close to the front of the train as possible, it makes for quite a comfortable ride. Overall I think the ride is well rounded and offers great thrills and looks very nice visually.

Thorpe Park rides are bigger, faster and better on the whole than Chessington World or Adventures. The ride queues are usually 30-90 mins and the Colossus is no exception. It is a monster of a ride :) A useful tip is to get a queue jump ticket so you can make the most of the rides like Colossus at Thorpe Park. Enjoy you day. You can get reduced entry prices by collecting coupons from a variety of groceries or booking in advance online.

Love this ride. Themeing could be better but for Thorpe park good themeing isn't really expected. Still enjoy colossus however quite a lengthy and enjoyable ride with all the corkscrews and g force

I adore the corkscrew section of this ride, it’s underrated, if you are short it is a little bit of an uncomfortable ride but for me it’s perfect. Been a long time favourite .

Slightly showing its age, but still a great ride. She's well maintained, but the cars just aren't that comfortable with the harnesses clamping onto your legs and holding your feet down rather than making contact with your torso or shoulders.
With ten inversions colossus is always going to please regardless of the slightly uncomfortable car.

The queue for this ride was lengthy. About 60 minutes but felt like so much longer. Finally got to the front of the queue, then the ride broke down. Was a little disheartening given how long we waited but was given a fast track as a way of apology
Went on a few other rides, in that time they managed to get the ride working again and we got on very quickly. Well worth the wait.

love this one! total 5 (I believe) loops and 5 corkscrews!! love this ride although not necessarily the smoothest of all of them.. lots of fun but the queus are normally quite long, so get on it at the start of the day if it's your main ride u want to get on 🫶🏼

only thing is when it's boiling hot queuing for collosus is hell 😫 its very close queuing and there is barley any shade D:

I enjoyed this ride when it was first created in the park 17 years ago. Every time I’ve been to Thorpe Park it has been a must. It’s a great ride. If you pay attention to the safety advice and keep your head pressed back against the seat, you won’t experience any problems. I rode it as a child and as an adult and have never had any problems. Great ride, could do with some maintenance now though as it’s looking a little tired!

This ride was so good, people say that its really rough but what do you expect when its been running for years don't listen to them they are light hearted. would recommend and is very popular! when going to Thorpe park go straight to this ride! way better than Disney land for sure!!

Loved the ride. My third fave in the park. So..your head gets bashed around A LOT and you have suffered a 'head injury' when you get off. Ride queues are really long but worth it. I recommend going there as your first ride and get on the first few trains as there will be a 5 min queue

I love this ride and this was actually my first ride when I went to Thorpe Park for the first time! The best part I love is the drop and it always makes me go wow! Also people have been giving this ride low ratings because they experienced problems with their head. This is because people don’t follow to rules, they clearly mention to press your head back at drops and loops so you don’t get hurt by the force! Other than that this ride is an absolute must to go on. Overall 5 stars from me as it’s a great ride. (Ride needs some paint work and a little maintenance on the chains that take the ride up as they are a little slow.)

Wow! Oh my gosh! This Intamin coaster blew me away twice more! Brilliant operations running 2/2 trains but not much social distancing in the but on the ride itself to staff do distance you... Went on this beast twice taking my all-time total rides to 3! Plus I sat on my own this time! It's a thumbs up from me!: 👍
