Lorna Doone Dental Surgery

Really lovely surgery with super friendly staff. I am always nervous before any treatments, I really hate needles and generally I am always stressed out. I just cannot stop thinking how bad I will feel and how much it will hurt but Elena is doing wonders. I didn’t feel anything of the injection and it worked so well, no pain, no discomfort at all! I felt I was in safe and quick hands during the whole procedure.

I have been attending the Lorna Doone dental practice for 37 years. Dr. Elena Birch has treated me for all the following: fillings, extractions, dental bridges, root canal and a dental implant. She is well qualified and my experience has been very positive especially with a very tricky root canal filling. Dr Birch explains the treatment and costs thoroughly beforehand and I am very satisfied with all the procedures I have had. David Birch is on reception duties and is very friendly with a good sense of humour. The surgery is very clean with extra measures being taken during the pandemic.I have had a good experience with the hygienist also. I would recommend this practice for all your dental requirements.

The Lorna Doone Dental Practice is small but that enables them to provide very personal service.
All aspects of treatment are carried out in calming and reassuring surroundings.
Procedures are clearly explained beforehand.
The technology used by both the dentist and hygienist is of a high standard.
Overall, the quality and results of treatment are higher than we have previously experienced in dental practice.

I would just like to commend you on what you have achieved with the Lorna Doone dental practice. I’ve been with the practice for many years now and have been heartened to see that you have kept up the very high standards I’ve come to expect from all at Lorna Doone since you took it over.
I’m also very impressed with how well you did during the lockdown. I was concerned when it appeared that I needed root canal treatment and a crown just before the first lockdown - but I needn’t have been. The treatment went very well - pain-free and very efficient. The crown was fitted shortly after that and I didn’t experience any adverse aftereffects - which was good as at that stage everywhere was locked down.
Since then and as we’ve been in the various stages of release from lockdown, I’ve been back to the practice for my regular checkups and appointments with the hygienists - all of which have gone very smoothly. Your staff is very friendly - treating everyone with respect and dignity as well as keeping the practice clean and safe.

All teeth extracted, two implants and full set of dentures; and all this with no pain, and no anxiety! Elena and her helpers were helpful, good natured and empathetic. I ended up smiling, eating well and wishing I had had it all done years ago!

Very happy with the service. As well as check ups I have had two implants that both went smoothly (and they look good). Elena is very thorough as is the hygienist. David the receptionist is very friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

I visited here yesterday with my 13 year old son for a hygienist appointment. We were both booked in and it was my Sons’s first time for the hygienist as he is having braces fitted next week. Honestly the best hygienist I’ve ever been too. Was so gentle with my son and did such a great job. We both left with gleaming smiles. I used to be so scared of the hygienist. Osman was just an absolute legend according to my son. He took lots of time to go through homecare as well. We have also visited Miss Birch for check ups and tooth extraction and been equally pleased.

Visiting a dentist is never an enjoyable experience but at Lorna Doone they do everything to make the visit stress free. Reception is efficient and friendly the dental service is extremely good and I’m always impressed by the follow up service and support.

I have had my fair share of dental treatments in the last 20 years, having had many different issues, having been under the hands of several different dentists. None of the previous ones were as kind, honest and gentle as Nancy and Dr Nick! I cannot begin to express how much their honestly and amazing skills improved my experience! I'm an incredibly anxious patient, especially when it comes to dental treatments. These two doctors can put me at ease and they are very considerate! I had two fillings, which were done very quickly and smoothly by Dr Nick, and a root canal done by Nancy, which was the best dental experience of my life! She showed me the X-rays and explained what was happening. These two are bloody fantastic!
