What s fabulous stay. Special thanks to Masood and Keval for the wonderful service and upgrade for my 66th birthday. All of the team are really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is very generous, offering both continental and buffet full English. So central and really worth staying here.

I was speaking at the Oxford Farming Conference just around the corner. The hotel was ideally positioned and I managed to get a parking space which was incredibly good luck and made my stay so easy and stress-free. The rooms are a little too hot (please turn the heating down!) but other than that, my stay was perfect. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful.

We glad we choose the Mercure Eastgate Hotel for our X mas break. We presently surprised with having live music and its nice to see that some staff were singing. We all had a good laugh and good time. Rooms were spacious and I could not find any fault.
Service was immaculate and staff really helpful and all our requests taken care of. Hotel centrally located . Thank you for all the team and can't wait to return again.

Super hotel. Excellent location. Great friendly and helpful staff. Room was nice and big. Great shower and television. Bed was very comfortable. Smart decor. Breakfast plentiful and a great choice of food.

Fantastic location, easy walk to all the sights and restaurants. Lovely room with an amazing bathroom. The staff were really helpful and made check in and out easy. It was noisy at night due to proximity to the road but that is because of the central location which we wanted.
Over all a great stay only minor down side the pillows were a hard.

My other half is 94, seven years into dementia and in a wheelchair. Without exception, the staff could not have been more courteous, kindly or efficient at making her stay as enjoyable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble. They were imaginative but not intrusive and never patronising. Thank you.

Our stay was completely relaxing and pleasant. Receiving an upgraded room was a pleasant surprise but the best part was being in a smaller hotel with friendly, personal service and thoughtful touches like the lotion in the bathrooms and the jars of jams at breakfast instead of the usual little packets.

We recently visited Oxford to undertake some academic research. We booked via Groupon, there was some confusion and as it turned out there were no rooms available at the hotel when I emailed to check booking confirmation and Groupon should not have offered the date. However via email and phone the manager and front desk staff at reception were friendly and understanding and called back shortly to advise me of a cancellation. The hotel has a great location though I advise parking is in short supply so use park and ride. Situated near Magdalen college and the high street it is perfect for city centre needs. The welcome was warm and the reception and bar area is beautiful. Staff accommodated our early check in request changing our room slightly. Room was a little old but clean and tidy with luxe furnishings and a large airy bathroom with a great shower. Also a beautiful view of oxford from our window. Breakfast was fantastic. Only hiccup dinner was overcooked and bland and the restaurant manager lady who served us was fairly rude and did not give a great standard of customer service I hope this was just an off day. A wonderful stay and I look forward to returning and as a disabled customer the stay was easy to navigate and my needs met.

A great experience, not too big, not too small, the hotel is nestled in a traditional Oxford stone building with a beautiful view of a magnificent university building from the foyer. Breakfast was great value and in a well presented and lit space with lots of options.

Our privilege room was well appointed with a modern walk in shower and plenty of space that "works" with convenient connections at the bed side and was nice and quiet.

Car parking on site is limited - but it is everywhere in Oxford, but we managed to get a space, which took all the hassle out of finding a car park elsewhere.

Staff were friendly and made everything easy.

A little gem of a hotel near Radcliffe Square and the colleges.
Thank you!

The hotel is very well located. We stayed in a privilege room which was spacious and very well appointed. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was very nice, both for breakfast and dinner, however the service in the restaurant was poor. We would certainly stay here again.

We had a lovely stay, we had a nice welcome and given drink tokens, as well as being given a privilege room with chocolates and a birthday card. The breakfast was well worth the money too. Well located and helpful staff. Would stay again!

Located in the heart for Oxford University's many colleges and sights. Staff is friendly and very accommodating with the added benefit of a proper English Breakfast!

It was to celebrate a 60th birthday. Chocolates and card were a nice surprise from the Hotel. Great service in the handling of the surprise champagne. Really central, on the whole good service and first class breakfast

Great room and one of the best bathrooms I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. Nice staff. Good bar. Historic building in the centre of Oxford. Just a really good experience (and I’m picky). Would definitely stay there again.

It was a 60th birthday break for myself and my wife and the thoughtful touches made such an impression. A very thoughtful card in our room accompanied by a small box of tasty chocolates and then a complimentary bottle of wine as well.

We had a lovely time and the warm greetings by all of the staff was wonderful and we are very grateful.

Very positive experience with all the staff who could not do enough to help as I am a permanent wheelchair user. The main building is only partially accessible but the staff work around it.

This hotel was a very good choice. Location is great, right in the heart of Oxford, close to shops, restaurants and different Oxford University buildings. The hotel is simple yet classy. I really liked the bar and the breakfast is quite good too. However, what stands out from the rest is the friendliness and service oriented character of the staff. Employees were friendly, talkative and encouraging since the very beginning, specially one lady at the reception named Quiddy. Her energy and positivism was definitely uplifting!

Pros: Stayed one night. Excellent location. Quiet room. Clean and efficient. Fast free wifi.
Cons: curtains weren’t blackout so needed eye mask. Hotel decor looked a bit tired.

This was a perfect choice of hotel for a 1 night stay in Oxford. The location is excellent, just off the high street. The staff were friendly, polite, knowledgeable and accommodating. The decor is a mix of modern and traditional and everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms well appointed. Curtains are heavy and thick to keep out early morning sunlight.
The car park is small and you have to leave your keys if you are lucky enough to get a space, if not there is a public car park nearby.
Breakfast is a £10 pp charge and represents good value.
Would highly recommend
