Absolutely fantastic site and a great welcome by the owner. Loads of space, super facilities with some more showers on the way. No dogs and no kids made for a quiet stay, other than farmers bailing before the weather turns. The photos show how well the site is looked after. We'll return for a longer stay next time.

What a fabulous find! Great hosts, very friendly and informative. Small adult only site and no dogs allowed. Very quiet and chilled. Immaculate toilets and showers. Spacious pitches. This is a great location to explore Somerset. We will definitely return as 3 days just wasn't long enough!

Myself and my group of friends have booked tent pits. I must say that this is the best place we have been at so far. The toilet/shower facilities have exceeded our expectations. They were very clean and done to a very high standard, looking just like at home. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful and respectful. They recommended some beautiful places to visit and told us the best ways to get to them. I am recommending this to everyone because it’s definitely worth to see! Everything was on point, we will definitely go back there because we just couldn’t get over the fact with how amazing it was. We even wanted our friends to visit us for a bit and the hosts welcomed them just as if they were with us the whole time. Jackie is an absolute gem, she makes a “just like at home” atmosphere around. They also have very friendly dogs who were one of the best attractions there haha! Whoever plans to go there, should definitely go there. We are extremely thankful and will definitely be back. Thank you for helping us to have a great weekend!

The Hideout is such a lovely, small campsite with beautiful views and fantastic owners! Jackie & Glyn are so helpful and attentive, they couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and settled. The site is really well located, not far from the North Somerset and West Dorset coastlines.
The bathrooms are spotlessly clean and very cosy for camp site facilities!
We will definitely be back in the near future and highly recommend the site to anyone looking for a relaxed break away in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Thanks for having us!

I had a lovely 2 nights stay that the Hideout Camp site! I rang up to book my stay and then was late arriving. Jackie had no problem with this and even greeted me a cup of tea when I finally arrived. The facilities were all very clean and well kept with the use of a kettle and a microwave.
Glyn and Jackie were so kind and extremely helpful, they even have me a lift into Bridgwater twice!
I loved my stay at the Hideout and can’t wait to stay there again soon!

We had an 8 day stay in May and found this site was really great. Jacqui and Glyn were the most welcoming of hosts we have ever experienced with great tips on things to do in the area.
The toilets and showers were superb and site was peaceful with stunning scenery.

I stayed at The Hideout in 2016 whilst pushing my Wheelchair from Lands End to John O'Groats. The Hideout was the favourite campsite on the challenge, there wasn't any other campsite that combined the views, A* facilities, very friendly owners and a cracking local pub full of amazing people.
The owners even gave us advice on how to avoid a couple of busy roads I would be pushing along on my challenge. The quiet, out of the way location and the hot, spotlessly clean and powerful showers led to a great night's sleep.
I was so impressed with this campsite that I wrote about it in my blog about my challenge at the time but with the euphoria of setting a world record just over two weeks after stopping here I forgot to leave a review. I would love to revisit the Hideout at some point in the future, there were lots of attractions locally that I didn't get to visit due to the nature of my visit.
Please ignore my father's review, he learnt to use the internet to support my record attempt and has obviously clicked on something he doesn't understand. I will rectify this ASAP and I can only apologise and tell you how embarrassed I am that he has made this mistake, especially on my favourite campsite. Old people and technology!!!
This campsite has showers and toilets to rival most hotels and views, bird song, friendly owners and a cracking local pub that hotels just can't offer.
Many thanks to the owners for allowing me and my support team to stay.
Anthony

A peaceful spot for a stopover. Perfectly laid out and immaculately kept. Grass van pitches spacious, perfectly level and mowed to perfection. Spotless facilities quite the best of any we have been to in our limited experience of seven sites ! Friendly owner explained all when we first arrived and bade us farewell next morning. Definately worth five stars.

This is amazing. We are pitched facing west and have seen some stunning sunsets. It's convenient to access road links to all the local amenities and attractions. A short drive takes you to beaches, Cheddar Gorge, Chew Valley Lakes, Glastonbury, Street and Clarks Village. If you're into birdwatching, then Steart Marshes, Ham Wall, Shapwick Heath and many other local reserves are close by. The hosts, Jackie and Glyn are friendly and attentive. The no noise after 9.00pm is real. They will sort it, if necessary. Definitely one to come back to, if Boris doesn't lock us in again. All necessary Covid protections are in place, and the facilities are clean and fresh, and are individually booked, per pitch, during Covid restrictions. Camping here is the ideal way to getaway, and stay a safe distance from others.

A lovely peaceful spotlessly clean site and Jackie couldn’t have been more helpful unless she’d held our hands and walked us everywhere !
We only stayed the one night unfortunately as we were on route to Cheddar but a lovely little spot and great hosts
The toilets and shower facilities one of the best so far !

We was greeted upon arrival by the lovely Jackie and taken to our camping pitch, we had everything explained to us and at points of our break, both Jackie and her wonderful husband gave us ideas for places to visit, things to do and even told us the easiest route to get to the places, they was both very helpful and attentive to us :). The shower/toilet facilities are impeccable and you can see they are very well looked after. The site itself is beautiful, the surrounding views are lovely and it’s nice to just sit back and take it all in. In conclusion, this is one of the best camping sites I’ve personally ever been too and I can guarantee we will be back again :)

Stunning location, beautifully clean facilities and super friendly hosts. Jackie was very helpful in sending over some ideas for things to do in the local area before we arrived and we got more recommendations while we were there. We only stayed for a weekend but wish it could have been longer! Couldn’t have asked for more and hope to stay again. Thank you!
