Not been since the venue change hands. A friend and I came for a weekday early evening meal. There were other tables in as well, so we weren't the only ones. We had a main and pudding. Both courses were really nice and very well presented. The service we recieved was really good and all the staff were very attentive. We would return again.

This place was great.
The staff were friendly and professional. All the staff appeared well trained and understood the visitors' needs ( I was solo, so I was observing).
The room was a good size and had everything needed (cafetiere was a bit knackered!!) with good light, mirrors, and usable hairdryer.
Good varied menu in the restaurant and what's more, what I ate was tasty.
I would stay again.

Can't rate the rooms as didn't stay only had lunch. Absolutely beautiful food. Would highly recommend. Service was fantastic everyone was polite and the nice thing was you were left alone to eat your food and not bothered every 2 minutes.
Will definitely 100% be coming back.
Thank you to all the staff for a pleasant visit x

Stayed at The Bower Inn, Bridgwater for a work related trip. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was stocked with everything you could need including special touches like homemade biscuits! The toiletries were very useful too. Would recommend this hotel

Our group of three couples loved our one night stay here. We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant and a delicious breakfast the next day. Plenty of vege and vegan options and a great drinks menu (including decaf coffee yay). Rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. And very reasonably priced. All staff friendly, competent, welcoming, efficient. Thanks for a wonderful time!

We just stayed here as I had a 3 day course near by. We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff and couple who ran the place were super friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I was really impressed with the perfectly cooked and tasteful english breakfast that I had 3 times, whilst my partner loved the Turkish breakfast! We ate dinner here on two of the nights and they were both great. Loved the room. 100% recommend. If in the area again will definitely stay again

We were welcomed from the start and our room was delightful. The food was absolutely excellent and as a vegan, I was very well catered for. The staff couldn’t have been nicer!
We will come again !

Such a wonderful place to eat. We like to sit by the kitchen and watch all the food freshly prepared. The chefs work together so well and all the food is freshly cooked and served.

Always a warm welcome and a cheerful chat. Staff very friendly and the food is always a very high standard. Have stayed once in one of their rooms, but this is mainly our local watering hole. The room was spacious, well equipped and very peaceful.

Stopped for lunch again, travelling back from Devon to Gloucester. Great meal must be the best steak and ale pie we've tasted for a long time. Friendly service even when busy, we will be back next trip to the west!

We had a lovely stay at The Bower Inn as we stopped off on our journey north from Cornwall. The location is great being not far from the M5 but it still feels quite rural with our room overlooking green fields. The food was great as was the service, all the staff were really friendly and made a fuss of our dog who loved the attention! Would recommend to anyone, particularly if you are looking for a dog friendly stay.

After having a poor experience at a different Butcombe pub recently, The Bower Inn was a pleasant surprise. Food was great, service was excellent and both Chelsea and Dan were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Very dog-friendly too, which was a bonus. The atmosphere and the food and drink were the perfect end to a good day. Highly recommended

We consider The Bower to be our local. Great welcoming staff without exception and never disappointed by the food. I had the duck pearl barley risotto special and it was delicious. Good selection of wines. The dogs love visiting too.

The food was delicious and staff very helpful. It was handy to have instructions on the website around the road closure. Lovely atmosphere and child-friendly.

We brought a large birthday party of 20 for Sunday lunch, booking the garden room to accommodate us all. We had preordered our meals, but had some confusing last-minute cancellations and additions to complicate matters.

In spite of this, the staff were absolutely excellent. The duty manager was smiley and cheerful, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely (I recommend the cauliflower cheese in particular) and the beer was great.

Thanks to all the Bower Inn staff for making our family party such a great one!

Large clean room, very large comfortable bed, excellent parking food is good staff very helpful especially Kevin and Chelsea on our stay. Nothing was to much trouble. Only problem full English breakfast not to our taste bacon fatty, sausage spicy, toast like a surf board. There are plenty of other choices wich are very good. We had. 10 for Sunday lunch and it all went very well. Would recommend.
