Love going up here and discovering all the different trails. Dog friendly, child friendly. Mountain bike trails. Get the occasional enduro group going through. Has access for horse riders. Lovely open picnic area or benches along the trails. Source of the Severn walk is a must. But do be prepared for it being a lot cooler at the top.

A choice of many scenic forest trails.
Suitable walks to accommodate for everyone.
* Free parking
* Pram / wheelchair friendly.
* picnic tables / benches.
* Toilet facilities.
There is no data signal, & limited phone signal, so maybe prepare yourself with a map to get there as sat nav/ phone map is very temperamental.

Amazing place. Clearly marked routes, accessible areas to rivers if you just wanted a picnic.
Recommend the hike to the source of the Severn and then up on to summit Pumlumon fawr, one stile (by the ancient stones to pumlumon) was not big dog friendly, the dog gap was way to small, but we managed to pick him up and over. Rest of the paths were easy to follow and dog friendly as long as they are on a lead. Only passed one other couple in 4 hours. Lots of rest stops with beautiful views down the river valleys, picnic tables along the more level routes. Interesting historical features of Bronze Age communities and later mining activities are well described. Fabulous day!

Great hidden away place. Free car park, toilets that were open in March. Board walk for about 1/4 mile then wide well maintained paths. 4 or 5 choices of walks.

What a beautiful place. Huge forests and endless walks through them. The River Severn running through it all. The sound of the water and birds, butterflies, dragonflies blueberries, ferns, fir trees and Rowan, so idyllic. Just don't tell anyone. Really well prepared path that is accessible for most for the first 1/2 mile or so.

Lovely place to visit. We're quite lucky as it's only a 15 min drive for us. Never get boring as lots of different walking paths to follow and not forgetting the picnic area by the river. Great place for families young and old.

So beautiful, going to be up there as a favourite. Walked to the source a nice long trail up into the valley. Car park was full when we left around midday on a Sunday. Long narrow road to access the area but worth it. Dog had a ball.

Starting point for some lovely walks in the surrounding woods. Car park and toilets are free, with leaflets available detailing the routes. Highly recommend!

A really great work, the first part is on a wooden slats and leads to a picnic areas which is great for little one's and continues after this to a more of a casual walk which can last a few good hours. Toilets on site and free parking

Great place to go for all ages. The path is well looked after and there are also toilet facilities here with a decent sized car park. Brilliant for a picnic day out. If you're into walking I would strongly recommend it or even if you just want a quiet stroll along the river. Definitely if you are in the mid Wales area it's a Must Visit.

What a beautiful forest. The river severn in it's infancy flows through it, there are a few paths to take but you can really get lost in the dense pines. What a lovely place to be.

What a place, lots of different walks for all levels & times, 1/2hr - 3.5hrs, stunning scenery, very peaceful, lovely variety of waterfalls. Toilets on site, good parking. you can walk to the source of the River Severn here. Don’t forget to take drinking water... and most importantly your camera!

Such a lovely walk. Car parks fine, toilets okay. The 1st part of the walk is boarded, making it easier on the feet. Eventually the path is a little more rugged, but once you've crossed the river the path/track is easier to walk. Lovely walk to the waterfalls.

Hafren forest offers beautiful walks all with fantastic views, toilets are kept clean and it's nice to have them instead of having to defecate in the woods like some wild animal

Overall lovely place

Lovely place to go especially in snow. Great for exploring with the kids. Good place to start from too if wondering into the cambrian mountains and the source of the river severn
