Great service. Lots of stocked products. The Tardis of hardware stores! If you are not sure they will stock it, ask, because it's probably in there. And on the off chance it's not, they can order it for you. Impressive place.

Popped in during a diy kitchen tap change, great service, even one of their customers helped me out before one of the shop keeper knew exactly what I needed and found it in seconds. Will always use this as my first stop shop before going to major brands. They look like they’ve got everything you need, haven’t look upstairs.

Superb service, knowing what was needed and getting it in when not in stock.

The phrase if VAHs don't have is a mantra you hear over and over, having only ever "succeeded once" it rings true over and over.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable and I'm amazed with all the items stocked they can point you to the location very quickly.

A treasure of a local shop

Been very lucky here on a few occasions. Great traditional hardware shop. Very helpful staff. Fantastic stock of all the little bits and pieces you need for minor ongoing repairs. Garage door cable?..go to VAR, o ring for sink plug? don't want to buy a multi piece selection box of 200 just a single o ring...go to VAR. Paper towels for community loo or just for wiping off your dipstick, VAR does not fail to deliver. Great resource.

Vah is an independent family hardware store selling essential ironmongery, electrical, plumbing, timber and paint (like a mini Wickes). A key cutting service and tool sharpening are also available.

The staff appear to be quite knowledgeable and straight when responding to questions.

During COVID19 the main body of the store is cordoned off and the staff will fetch any items required. Only two customers can be in reception at any one time. This may change as the rules relax.

Parking nearby is difficult so if any heavy items are required this may be a problem. Phone to check stock and arrange delivery.

The nearest comparable store is Metcalfes in Tring.

VAH has everything. It's hard to explain just how much there is available to buy in this little shop. Admittedly, stepping into VAH for the first time is a little daunting for the uninitiated, since the shop is packed floor to ceiling with everything you might need for a DIY job, but if you can't find what you're looking for, or you just don't know what you need, the owners are always willing to patiently help and share their substantial knowledge. Genuinely an amazing shop. Never disappoints.

Our local hardware shop. Open 7 days a week and if they dont have it then it doesnt exist. What a great shop and often cheaper than the big chains.

The most amazing shop if you need a tiny little piece of plastic that fits just behind the other thingy or a power tool solution to your problem. They have everything, open all the time, are super-friendly and have great knowledge to advise remotely.

I love Vahs, a bit of a throwback of a real old school diy store. If they dont have what your looking for you probably dont know what your looking for. Great and Helpful staff

They are as knowledgeable as they are patient here. I'm a complete novice but have just moved house and have a tonne of jobs to do. vah is more than a shop to me, without their help I'd be completely lost!
