Unique and interesting church, just short walk away from the Mundon Oaks (eerie grove of petrified trees, home to barn owls)

Lovely redundant church with complete set of 18th C boxed pews, painted plaster in an estate setting.

Such a beautiful little chapel. Pews intact. Can't imagine congregation in the old days walking here on Sundays as it's so far out in the country. So peaceful. Well worth a visit.

Came across this ancient and beautiful church quite off of the beaten track while following a local footpath.
Quiet and serene outside and a step back in time inside with the box pews and rustic finish. Has stood the test of time. Like so many country churches it is not actively used, but is still loved clearly.
Those involved in the restoration and maintenance are to be applauded and supported.

if your looking for some historic photos that have a story to go with them, check out the Petrefied Oaks behind St Mary's Church, when parked outside the church, continue through the cemetary too the gate at the other end, once through take the right hand path diagonally across the feild and through the bush arch around the pond and the oaks are on the other side.

This feild backs on to private property but there is a public footpath that follows the farmers feild so keep your eyes out for the signs.

Beautiful old disused church which has a service once a year. Used to live locally and visit regularly. Such a tranquil place.
