The Mall is a relaxing place two shop. There are only two floors and the parking is pretty good. There's a lot of different shorts and lots of nice restaurants and then you can go on 2 weeks Street where they're odd. So many different shops. Now the town centre is getting better. Put them all is a great place to relax and shop

I have not been back to Maidstone for 60 years and this was a revelation but I still saw some familiar roads despite the new builds and changes. However, Maidstone has kept the beautiful historic buildings and were a joy to see scattered about in the modern areas. Lots of retail shops to visit , lots of side roads . Complicated on first visit due to being very spread out but no doubt easier once going there a few times

Amazing mall. Lots of space, available moat of the day. It has lots of kind people and high standard security. Filled with everything you could need. Close to sainsbury's shop too

Doesn't change much. A few shops are slowly shutting down though which is a shame

Lots of nice shops to wander around or have something to eat. Have been looking for a certain watch for ages and bought a very nice one from the watch stall downstairs.

All your favourite shops and more.
Such as Making Miracles charity shop. Go there and find out about this wonderful charity.
My only criticism is the 'ticket-less' car parking which made paying for parking a bit of a lottery.

Shopping Centre is alright has quite a few good shops inside and looking a bit dated with a few closed shops Perfect for travelling on public transport as the shopping centre is connected to the main bus station. Lifts can be busy at peak times

The Mall Maidstone was built in 1976 as the 'Stoneborough Centre,' with a 7-storey office block on the top, named 'Stoneborough House.' In the 1990s, the shopping centre was rebranded as 'Chequers Shopping Centre,' to coincide with works on the main entrances and refurbishment work that was going on at the time. The office block above retained its original name.

The centre opened with a Sainsbury's supermarket, which closed and relocated to a separate building immediately east of the bus station in 2000.

In 2005, the centre was purchased by The Mall Fund, who once again set about refurbishing the centre with their own, distinctive pink corporate branding. An agreement was subsequently signed that Maidstone Borough Council would move into the office block on top of the centre, after extensive refurbishment of that, and the construction of a 'Gateway' reception area. The council signed a 99-year lease and took up residence in May 2007, with the block renamed 'Maidstone House'.

Today, The Mall Maidstone hosts a wide variety of shops, from independent retailers to big chain names like Sports Direct. It is a key part of the town centre, also containing the Chequers Bus Station, retaining the old name, which serves as the main bus terminus for the town. In December 2012 the Arriva Travel Shop closed after trading for many years in the centre. In June 2013 the Beales Outlet store shut after only a year in the centre. it was in the largest store in The Mall.

Just loved & enjoyed the view from when I was sitting inside the centre outside 'Visionexpress' waiting for my mother who was having her appointment with them but actually I was napping most of the time on a chair! 😄 😴 😅
