Fabulous fish, expertly cooked, served in outstanding location; literally on the harbour. Fish soup had astonishing depth of flavour. Very good service -high end but our waitress was sensitive to what we actually wanted which was to be left alone to enjoy the food and the view. Will definitely return - would like to try the mid week lunch set menu.

I visited the restaurant for the first time with my husband and I can say we had a marvellous night, the service was 10/10 and the food was absolutely stunning.
We have been served by a lovely lady called Jessica, very professional and friendly, I'm pleased.
I would like to back again during the day.
I'm a happy customer so I'll recommend this beautiful restaurant.

Incredible local food, including lots of locally caught seafood, and lovely views across the harbour.

Came for lunch so it wasn't too busy, and service was excellent. I ordered the trout with a side of creamy mash and it couldn't have been cooked better! Absolutely delicious, even the mash is to die for!

Be sure to book ahead as it can be difficult to get a table, and check the menu for prices too if you're on a budget as it can get expensive quickly.

Amazing food and service. We went here for the special dinner on Valentine's day. Especially loved the complimentary bread & butter, Rockefeller oysters, and their desserts.

Great location overlooking the small harbour. The food was very good, we went for the Sunday roast, which sounds boring but it was perfect. Parking can be a problem, and we would advise booking ahead.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Some reviews have been a little negative but we enjoyed our experience and will return.

Steak was amazing, views were great across the harbour, need to go back in the summer to be able to sit outside.
Food cooked beautifully with lovely attentive staff.

Another super dinner. Hosted clients. They loved it, we loved it. Sun was just going down, tide was out, beautiful evening. 9 of us sat down for dinner. Food was excellent and service was tip top, the waiters knew everything even what the art in the harbour was. We enjoyed the Gusbourne Bubbles and some lovely french wines. My thanks to all of the team that made it a night to remember.

We had a Valentine weekend in Hythe and Folkestone with my partner and decided to have romantic lunch at Rocksalt as it has an amazing views and intriguing reputation. The service was absolutely wonderful, the views were fabulous as our table was by the window and the weather was incredible for the middle of February. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with our lunch, as i was expected for a meal we paid over £120 for two. My celeriac risotto was very salty, so i could not taste any other flavours , but salt, tempura prawns were covered with very thick and greasy tempura butter, so i had to dig out prawns from inside and and leave this greasy butter on the side, my favourite padron peppers were murdered in the deep frier and were very soft and floppy! My partner had a fillet steak and they were very generously sprinkled with Rock Salt, which took the moisture and all the flavours away! There was a Rock Salt on the table for us to use if we needed, but they probably needed to prove the name of the restaurant!? My partner also had a straw potato cake which was nice and crisp, but very salty, which spoiled the flavour of the dish again! Wine was nice though 😂

Superb evening at Rocksalt! Beautiful food, beautiful setting, and superb service! A special mention to Rahman who served each plate with a warm smile and pride in what he was delivering, and the bar manager who kept us entertained and looked after until closing. Really great time, and highly recommended!

An absolutely delightful solo lunch, tasty food, perfect service.
I keep on talking about this place, the atmosphere was great, nice views…one of my favourite fish restaurants out of London!
You won’t be disappointed!

What a vibe. This is a really special restaurant fronting the buzzy Folkestone Harbour Arm. Service is exemplary and incredibly friendly. Great ambience, the kind of place you'll want to dress up, but unpretentious. Food is truly exceptional. We went for the cheese souffle and artichoke soup to start which were really delicious, followed by the market fish option of a huge seabass stuffed with herbs and served with a delicious buerre blanc. It's quite pricey, but feels very reasonable for the quality - definitely a special place to dine, would heartily recommend. Book properly in advance! I booked three weeks ahead for a Saturday evening, and got one of the last spots...

The food was divine as usual. Haddock fishcake starter was bigger than needed. Hubby chose scallops which were succulent. My husband and I shared the sea bream, which was served whole but deboned. So tasty.
Dessert was the chocolate delice, blackcurrant sorbet and vanilla cream. It was a triumph of bitter richness. Truly a taste sensation. Bill £150 but money well spent.

Excellent modern British food with a seafood focus. The dining room enjoys stellar harbour views, and the food is very good indeed. Prices are reasonable given the quality and service was excellent. Well worth visiting.

Great views across Folkestone Harbour and good food. Accept Google's enhanced photo and even the sea looks Mediterranean blue.

Lovely to sit on the upper decking over looking the harbour, dogs are allowed which is great, lovely cocktails and the larger is cheaper than the harbour arm. 3

Lovely food, *very* lovely Sicilian white wine. The stand-out thing for me was the politeness and efficiency of the waitresses - I kept saying to myself "what have I done to deserve this?"
