Lovely little place to visit. Various areas to explore including woodland, bog garden, rockery, and hot house. All maintained by the University.
Dogs welcome.

Situated between the two Menai bridges on the outskirts of Bangor, the Botanic Gardens are an oasis of calm, a place for reflection and a good place to do some forest bathing.
Lots of joggers and dog walker also benefit from this location, and there is even a dog owners code of conduct. Having said that, the athletic field sits just pat the botanic garden and despite obvious signing banning dogs from that area, several dog owners were merrily letting their dogs get a good old run around. Go figure.
The gardens include specimen trees, a bog garden, a bamboo collection, some ponds, wild meadows and some glasshouses which are only open on special event days (presumably chargeable) and volunteer open days (possibly free).
There is plenty of seating and toilet facilities are available. Parking and entrance are free.

A really lovely walk around the Treborth Botanic Garden today. A real hidden gem of a botanical garden with FREE entry and FREE parking. Just be careful on the approach road with the rather severe speed bumps! A lovely collection of plants and trees, with very interesting landscape features etc. Great to visit in the Spring / Summer months! :)

Just came back from doing a Fungal foray, I mostly had my head in the bog zone but there were so many interesting plants and fungi. It's really pretty there

Visited for Draig beats festival. Lovely place, it has nice planting and natural areas. Not as manicured as Bodnant Gardens but beautiful none the less.

This is part of Bangor University. But it is open for visitors . Everyone was friendly and answered questions. It's worth going. It is free, but I do recommend voluntary donating. They are dog friendly and kept on a lead. Will be going again

Beautiful place to visit, there are a few parking places with disabled bays. Parking was free.
A toilet is available.
There are lots of sensory garden areas set up to explore, with places to sit down under shelter as well.
I did see a walking path, but we didn't go that way! All seems accessible.
You don't think you've got the right place as you turn into an industrial area, but keep driving forward, and you come upon the entrance....a little like a secret garden!

Enjoyed my walks here! Especially when it is sunny it becomes a whole different experience!
The place is well maintained but a warning that it can get a bit muddy so be prepared for these days!

Admittedly not the most diverse botanic garden in the world, but fortunately it’s a well kept one and mostly done by volunteers (as I understood), so I congratulate them for their efforts. I heard that the university wanted to close it, therefore take advantage of it while it exists! A nice arboretum and many plants marked with labels (so many gardens forget this!) The greenhouses have specialised collections: orchids, carnivorous plants, temperate climate plants, that passionate people look after. Conservation of plants is also an important aspect here, that other botanic gardens tend to relegate. Even if you don’t like plants, the garden offers a very pleasant stroll. I like that you can visit it at any time and it’s free. Remember to leave a gift to support the necessary costs.

Beautiful, tranquil gardens and a lovely woodland walk with streams, dens and views of the straits. Good paths, toilets onsite and dog friendly so great for children too. Lots of beautiful and unusual plants and amazing trees to see and all for free! Limited parking is available onsite. They also organise various events throughout the year.

University owned, well established teaching Botanic gardens maintained with great love and care by staff, students and volunteers.

Accessible woodland with many native species, under protection of SSSI designation. Footpaths along the bank of the Menai Straits give views of the water, bridges and Anglesey shores with trails well signposted. Maps and guides available from main building, you'll find toilets and a small selection of locally made items for sale here too. The six glasshouses adjacent to main building hold spectacular special collection of orchids, carnivorous and tropical plants. Look out for sculptures and the ancient Luscombe Oak in the forest. Alpines, rock gardens, pond and much more to see if you explore! Look out for red squirrels and heron. The wollemi pine from Australia is very special too, previously thought extinct until recently and grown from seed at the garden!

Many spots for sitting and appreciating the views. No cafe onsite, but lots nearby in Menai Bridge,a short walk away over the bridge - great for views of the Straits, you'll see Church Island which is five minutes walk from the Bridge. Menai has great cafes, delicatessens, pubs, post office with souvenirs, post cards and guide books.

The garden is on Welsh Coastal footpath and you can carry on southerly to bird hides in National Trust land. Dogs are welcome, but on leads. Don't miss the amazing abundance of around 200 species of mushrooms growling in Autumn (look out for mushroom day!) or Draig Beats music festival in early Summer! An ideal half or full day activity. Plenty of shelter in woodland when it rains..
