Worth visiting once for the novelty but not too much here just a quiet island with a church on it.

CHECK THE TIDE TIMES before you visit, it was way out when we visited but i can imagine a lot of people have been caught out before as it gets completely cut off when the sea is in.

Beautiful little church out on its own island. It's a very scenic place to visit and an awesome place for a picnic. We went to the Anglesey race track and decided to take the walk down. I'm very glad that we did

We parked out the end of the lane close to the beach, this lane is very narrow so be prepared for oncoming cars. Park at the bottom on the right and make your way to the beach. The access is a little steep but it’s accessible for all. Walk over the stones and you hit the sandy beach. Head out to the church, but check the tide times. It comes in fast! Stunning location, and quite a spectacle. The beach is dog friendly and very sandy in the middle. Just watch the stones on the way out to the church, if you aren’t sure footed wear flat shoes. Amazing place for kings to explore and play.

Well worth the walk, I parked in Aberffraw and walked along the road, idyllic views en route to then be greeted with the WOW view. Timed well whilst the tide was out allowing me to take the short walk to the church, I would recommend wearing walking shoes as you will need to navigate over pebbles and rocks. Would definitely recommend this place 👌

Church in the sea unreal until you see it.walk to it when the tide is out. Dates back hundreds of years. Still holds ceremonies including wedding

What's not to love this place? Its a good walk to get to this church. On a fine sunny day its wonderful. When the tide is low you can walk upto the church, the beach is very pebbly though, so you need to be careful. Most of the time the church is locked up. Its out in the sticks, but the views are more than worth it. The photos were taken with a mobile phone.

Beautiful circular walk from Aberffraw over the hill tops to arrive a Eglwys Cwyfan. The tide was out and it's a rocky walk to the church but well worth it. Beautiful view, stunning place. Nice walk up the lane back to Aberffraw.

A pleasant walk of about 3/4 mile along a mainly flat country path from the nearby main road leads you to the bay at Porth Cwyfan. Alternatively you can drive to the small car park next to the bay however this is down a single track narrow country road. Once at the bay a short walk at low tide takes you to St. Cwyfan's Chapel (Chapel in the Sea). The walk across the bay can be quite rocky in places. There are 12 or so steep steps to navigate from the beach to the chapel (there is a handrail). The chapel is locked unless it is being used for a service/ceremony.

I loved it. Quite a trek to get there. Don't wear heels, impossible! Couldn't go inside, pics are through the window. Kinda difficult to work out where to park and where to walk. You have to walk around the race track. We parked by the group of cottages before the race track.

Visiting my family in the north. Decided to have a look at this place. Nice little church. Was once part of the main lane many years ago. Only accessable by the causeway or by boat. Nice sandy beaches. Would definitely recommend if you in the area.

Great little walk to chapel-when the tide is out! unable to go in, only open on a service day
As picture shows it's a rocky road to redemption😉😊

This is an amazing place. Very tranquil with the sea to the front and landscape behind. Ideal to stop and take stock and maybe have a sandwich and a flask of tea before getting back on with things.... or was that just me ? ;-)

Eglwys Cwyfan …. A truly magical place. Can only be reached at low tide. Approach either along the Anglesey Coastal path from Aberffraw or down lane from the Motor Circuit road. Services and Mariages held here.

Beautiful view, worth the walk. We got there and missed the tides, so rather than get stuck for hours, we enjoyed from afar.

Eglwys Cwyfan is a beautiful sight. It is a nice amble along the beach and over the causeway at low tide.
Well worth a visit.

Managed to get to the church as tide was out, otherwise it's surrounded by by the sea. Hence title "church in the sea". The church is kept locked unless there is a service. I can understand that but it would be nice perhaps to have open days maybe? Details of the church can be downloaded from Google. Easy enough to get to the church but not suitable for anyone who has a disability as you have to walk along a beach and a stony causeway and then a steep flight of steps.

Magical place just a 15min walk from road near the race track. Another one of Anglesey's golden nuggets

Very ethereal. Make sure you check the tide times. Usually quite quiet and peaceful.
