I only have positive things to say about this practice after being a patient here for the last 8 years, from the front of house staff to the doctors, nurses, physios etc.

Yes the appointment wait times can be long, but urgent or worrying symptoms recieve prompt attention, whilst routine or chronic but stable conditions will take a couple of weeks - which is perfectly acceptable given the current state of the NHS. The general public are far too quick to fault GP surgeries for long wait times etc. which is beyond their control. GP surgeries are doing MORE face to face appointments, telephone consults and providing all essential, routine and advanced services than EVER before, with LESS staff, funding etc. If you have someone to blame, please blame the government for YEARS of underfunding and overworking our amazing GP surgeries.

It is very easy to complain about this surgery for long wait times to see a doctor. Well actually most of the common things they deal with can be dealt with non-doctors, pharmacists etc. People just assume they need to see a GP which is certainly not the case. The clinical team and the rest of the team here are outstanding and provide amazing level of care and deserve nothing but credit for their work. Cases that require prompt clinical interventions are always dealt with professionally and referred appropriately.

Thank you to everyone at the Fountain Surgery for providing care to the local community all these years.

I had a fractured arm and got through to Lisa on the phone who was exceptionally helpful and put my request in on my behalf. She was patient and very supportive.

I've been a patient at this practice for 25 years and can honestly say the service and care that my family has received from this practice has been nothing short of excellent. The receptionists are lovely, warm and professional. The doctors are brilliant their dedication is faultless. In fact the reason I have stayed in this area is because of this doctors surgery and the care I've received. As I know this is rare and you would not normally receive this level of service. My good health and that of my family is down to the care we have received from this practice.
I don't normally leave reviews But felt I had to after reading some of these poor reviews. I am so shocked at what I read. I thought I had to put the record straight.

Absolutely love fountain practice . I have been with Dr senhen practice for 23 years and found everyone extremely kind and helpful . One year I moved out of Surrey and realised how bad was new practice was so when I was told I was moving back it was a joy to be able to go back to the same practice. Thank you all for being so kind and professional

I have been going too the Fountain practice for last 25yrs and the service has always been helpful but most of all the doctor,s and the RECEPTIONIST have always been lovely i always believe treat people how you want to be treated and the RECEPTIONIST have always been helpful and kind so too see these comments is alarming so people if you have spoken kindly or asked for things respectfully then I am sure you will have got it back in spades . So all I can say is a big thank you to the doctor,s and the staff at the Fountain practice for there continued help and assistance.

Superb service from Dr Waterstone who replied to my online description & pics regarding my ailment so quickly that I failed to answer my phone until she'd tried twice more! Within five mins of me submitting my forms, she'd worked out that my finger wasn't broken but infected & organised for antibiotics to be sent through to my local pharmacy. First class!

Getting an appt on the 'phone is seriously difficult at times, far better waiting for the surgery to open. Not enough doctors on duty to cover the amount of patients I find. This has been my surgery all my life, overall I have found my care to be good when I do see a doctor.

I've used this surgery for 25 years plus and have never had a problem. Can be difficult to get an appointment sometimes, even over the phone. The car park can get very difficult to get into, but Bourne Hall car park is only next door and a couple of minutes walk.

1 star… Changed my Dr as they were rubbish but I’ve not been able to book an appointment at all since joining this one. No correspondence since joining, they don’t answer the phone for ages. You have to race at 8.30am on the internet to book an appointment and a day has passed and still no response as to when I should even expect to hear back from anyone. Terrible service. As usual these days it’s not a service about people communicating, nobody cares about actual people, just automated messages, hold music, a long queue and constantly being referred back to a website. I’m now looking again for a different GP. I only need an inhaler. No idea who my GP is, or if I will ever speak to someone.

3 stars… Updated review June 2023: I went into the surgery and they were friendly and helpful. The Doctors were very kind. The place is a nightmare to find but seeing how it goes because the actual staff seem very good.

There’s zero privacy for the patient when booking online. When I book an appointment I have to list what I think is wrong with me, this then goes to anyone of the receptionist to read, discuss and decide how urgent the symptoms are. Does any of this comply with GDPR?

Updated 2022. Due to covid all appointments need to be booked via the website. It's not user friendly to find how to make an appointment. Wants to direct you to the Livi app. They should have a clear button stating "make an appointment " its extremely frustrating

Contacting the surgery is a real lottery. Lines open at 8.30 for appointments on the day. Not helpful if you are already commuting into work or start work at 8.30 and you don't need an urgent appointment. One day I redialled 72 times before I got through to find all appointments had gone. This is now helped by weekend and evening appointments but I don't think is very well advertised.
The practice itself is clean and well maintained and the reception staff are professional and friendly. Most of the doctors are helpful although there seems to always be a few locums and not a lot of continuity.
Parking is a big problem with only a small car park for a centre that houses two surgeries, a dentist and other NHS clinics. You can park at Bourne Hall and pay to park but be prepared for a short walk to the surgery.

An update: Requested a repeat prescription for my sons inhalers via the chemist I always use and collect prescriptions from. The surgery sent it to Miles Pharmacy. I don't even know where this pharmacy is. Luckily my usual chemist managed to track it and arrange to have it sent over to them but I could have never found this prescription. Surely if a repeat prescription comes from one chemist, they would look to send it back to the same place?

Usually don't have much issue but the last year I've not been allowed to order my own medication for my "clinical safety " the only people who can order it are the pharmacy (who i call constantly) and the gp surgery i can count on one hand the amount of times its been on time baring in mind im on epilepsy tablets which need to be retitrarated if I stop them for so many days at my complete wits end with this they say its on instruction from psych psych have said its at the gp discretion so who to believe either way in currently without my meds and having called the practice but being hung up on as the pharmacy person didn't pick up im still with no resolution im beginning to question whether this is about my personal clinical safety or just the safety of their clinic

Uncaring and untrained reception staff. Oblivious to what is going on around them and unsympathetic to patients with obvious concerns.
