Thurlaston Garden Centre and Tea Room

Having taken our little dog for a long walk around Bagworth Heath woods and Bagworth Park, we were looking for somewhere dog friendly for lunch and found this place.
It was our first visit, but certainly won't be our last.

A lot of garden centres claim to be dog friendly, but insist you have to sit outside of the cafe to eat. Not great in the winter! Plus they usually trot out the old 'Health and Safety' rubbish.....which IS rubbish. Health and Safety only prohibits dogs in food preparation areas, not food eating areas.

I digress. This lovely place has its own Dog Room, which was great. The food was very good, and very reasonably priced, and Wookie got what was, for her, a suitable amount of fuss from other customers! We didn't browse round the rest of the centre but we certainly will next time. And there will be a next time.

Fantastic. We also visited the tearooms and the chef politely allowed us to have something from the breakfast menu after the 11.30 cut off which was very much appreciated 👍 food was fab and the bedding plants are very reasonably priced and super healthy. Would highly recommend. Robins were nesting amongst hats for sale too, a spectacular sight to see mummy Robin taking food back to her babies nestled out of harms way.

Good place.
Doesn't have the most number of plants but we went in Feb. There's a cafe with a dog friendly area. Lots of trinkets to buy in general like a motorway services area.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, we have never gone away unhappy with our experience and enjoyed it every time, it's becoming our local go to place to meet up and have food, plus its dog friendly so you can bring your fur babies along too!

Can't wait to visit again soon! 🎂

Found this great garden centre at the weekend! Lunch in the restaurant was delicious, friendly staff and great range of products to peruse, some of which we bought 😁 we will definitely visit again and try one of the afternoon teas we saw many people enjoying!

Brilliant breakfast here, very dog friendly with a little dog area. Loved it so much got our friends an afternoon tea for their wedding present, Danny the manager was brilliant organised the entire thing for us on his day off!!! Amazing. Most appreciated. Thanks team.

What a great place to meet, shop, eat, drink, chill. The cafe is lovely and light, and warm, it’s accessible for buggies and wheelchairs and has a Family room (Disabled toilet & Baby change).
I’ll definitely be back.

Cakes in the cafe are amazing, the gifts and plants are excellent. Enjoyable visit.
A few less plants at the moment, but it's the time of the year.
It is now early summer and the selection of plants is very good.
Cafe as good as ever. Try the special Christmas treats. 🎅

My wife and I visit regularly, this is a must go to place if you are in the area, the staff are lovely and helpful, the prices are of excellent value, and the adjacent restaurant is definitely recommended, a big yes from us, highly recommended all year around.

Very busy but squeezed us in with two dogs. Yummy milkshakes and gluten free cakes!

The garden centre is quaint, the selection of plants isn’t vast but definitely well priced in comparison to the larger local centres. Definitely worth visiting for bedding plants and smaller shrubs though. The gift shop area has a number of independent sellers and local sellers/makers. You can browse anything from glass fusion to crystal jewellery to homeware to clothing. The tea room is great too. It’s clean, the service is always good with a large fresh menu. I’m gluten free and so is the owner I believe, so you’ll be in safe hands if you have any dietary requirements. The portions are extremely generous, so you might be going home with your leftover cake!

The shop is excellent. Cheaper than competitors. The car park could be better. Gravel and stone is annoying enough but taking a fully loaded trolley is hard work.
The cafe was pretty useless. Waited a long time for a coffee and ended up getting a refund. Person behind me got the wrong order.

Excellent tea room! All the food we ordered was really great, and there was a lovely selection of the more unusual drinks. Extremely extensive menu for such a small place. Would definitely return.

Booked an afternoon tea here for 6 and it was great! The table was set way before our arrival, everything was also all really tasty and came out on little benches! Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Will come again!

Lovely cafe good selection on the menu, good value and the breakfast tasted great. Very pleasant staff in the cafe and shops, well worth more than one visit.
