A beautiful, historic house and grounds.

A wonderful outing indulging in the architecture, art (Vermeer, Turner, Rembrandt) and history.

The cafe serves divine food and the scone with clotted cream and jam is a must.

Definitely a recommended trip and we’ll be back for sure.

Steeped in history, Kenwood House is a great heritage site that feels hidden away somewhere in the countryside, even though its in London. Inside the house is a wonderful trip back in time with some amazing artwork including a Rhembrant. The gounds are perfect for a walk (with or without a dog) and the facilities, such as toilet and cafe, are clean and inviting. There are some great finds to be had in the shop also. The Easter egg hunt was lots of fun, nice and simple for our young kids and they really enjoyed themselves. A lovely day out.

What a fantastic house and beautiful gardens for walking. A wonderful house with stunning artwork and furniture and the friendliest volunteers. Free entry to house and gardens. I was completely mesmerised. Highly recommended

Well worth the horrendous journey from Surrey into London. The house is full of amazing art with exhibits including Rembrandts self portrait, Gainsborough, Vermeer and Reynolds and the staff are very willing to explain the paintings in detail. The grounds are beautiful and you could easily forget you are in the heart of London, very popular with dog walkers

We visited Kenwood house Christmas light show and it was awesome. The trail was very well thought and planned. Lots of families having a good time and the food court was pretty decent too.

Beautiful building with amazing grounds. Friendly staff inside the house all very knowledgeable. If you love art you will enjoy wandering through the circular walk through parts of the building. Beautiful views from the back of the mansion down towards the lake and onto Hampstead Heath. Nice restaurant and coffee shop for meals, snacks, drinks and ice creams. Friendly staff, with patience of saints when dealing with some of the customers that I observed!!! Busy place so you would need to find a quiet corner after a walk. Great place for families with kids who like the out doors and picnics!

Loved the walk. Perfect after the Christmas excess! It was free to get into the grounds and there was parking available, after a short wait! But there is on street parking if you search hard enough!
It was a cold crisp day and after our walk across the muddy fields we went for hot chocolate from the cafe on the grounds. To say there was a queue of an under statement! I'd hate to visit in the height of summer! They had run out of cream tea and it was only 12:30!! The hot chocolate was reasonably priced. We saw Kier Starmer on our way home and gave him a piece of our mind! (Bonus! 😬)

Today, my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to sandwiches and a cream tea at Kenwood House cafe, after a much-needed walk around Hampstead Heath. The food was fresh, and the scones in particular, were absolutely delicious. Alexa and Johnny always provide first-class service, and their warm hospitality should make English Heritage very proud. Well done to them both, and all the lovely staff who work hard to keep us all fed, watered, and happy. We look forward to our next treat time! X

Kenwood house is a lovely place to visit when out for your morning walk or fancy a coffee. Especially in autumn has a magical feel about

Kenwood at night Christmas lights

It Was nice. the kids had a good craic if I'm honest a lot more could be done in the grounds, a Christmas village/ market.

There was no wow factor to the whole experience if there was a Christmas market more food stores, little trinkets it could become a family tradition basically up your game Kenwood

Absolutely enjoyed visiting this beautiful gem in Hampstead Heath for our day out.
The house is free to visit with lots of famous artworks and ready to answer any of your questions guides. Last entry at 15:30 and open until 16:00.
Great place for walks and picnics in summer.
The cafe has excellent selection of very tasty hot foods, cakes and drinks with tables inside and outside.
Car park is closed at 17:00.
We will be definitely be back there again!

Kenwood House, on the edge of London’s Hampstead Heath, was probably first built in the early 17th century. Between 1764 and 1779 Robert Adam transformed it into a neoclassical villa for William Murray, 1st Earl of Mansfield, and the interiors include some of Adam’s finest surviving schemes. Kenwood is now home to the 1st Earl of Iveagh’s renowned collection of Old Master and British paintings, which includes works by Rembrandt and Vermeer.

A perfect diversion to avoid the heat! Visited during the heatwave and enjoyed a tour of the Kenwood House and all its artwork and historic treasures. Also able to walk the grounds which had beautiful trees that allowed for relief in the shade. This a must do if you are in the North Islington area!

I visited there to see Vermeer's painting. Free to enter but could book in advance. Maybe closed due to bad weather. (I god cancellation one day and retry the next day)
Personal at the shop and in each room were friendly and helpful.
House is located Northside of Hampstead park and nice view of Bank/the Shard. Good to walk down to south.
Not only Vermeer, there are lot of paintings and house itself has history. Worth to visit and don't forget to leave donation.

Amazing place! Cafe was nice but food was overpriced and a little subpar. Would highly recommend visiting if you’re into stately homes

I recently visited and took a walk through the grounds and local woods. For a little part of North London to be so green and calm is nothing short of remarkable.

Free to visit and dogs welcome too.

Loved my visit. Beautiful mansion, displaying fantastic art by Reynolds and others. Mainly portraits but also some landscape of London in the 17th century which was fascinating. Every room had volunteers inside the room who would talk passionately about the paintings and provide interesting backstory. The visit was entirely free with the option to donate. Lastly, the gardens and views were absolutely stunning! Highly recommended.
