Words are not enough to describe the wonderfull experience we had here! This place is magical; out of fairy tales! The views, the tranquility, the smells, the sounds, everything combined transports you to another world!!! This is by far the best place we ever staid in the whole of UK and I can’t recommend it more!!! The host is amazing, everything was exactly as described, they were very welcoming and caring; they made sure our time spent here was of the highest quality! Very clean, well equipped, private parking, friendliest chickens in the world, the 10 star experience!!! Hats off!!!

Really lucky to find Ty Barcud whilst Fire In the Mountain festival was on. Both were fabulous. Barb and Hugh were very helpful, the Welcome basket was very much appreciated, the situation and views are tremendous and we had everything we could possibly need and lots, such as the firepit, that we didn't get chance to use because we were at the festival. Maybe another time?

Barb was an amazing host from the moment we got there, she even left my partner a gift as we were staying for his birthday (a step above & beyond!). Hugh was also very welcoming & friendly. The pod is spacious, self catering & offers amazing views first thing in the morning as well as the evening. There's plenty to see around Aberystwyth. Would definitely recommend taking a trip down to the local Y Ffarmers pub! Perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. We already miss being there & shall be returning! I've already told family members how brilliant this little pod was!

Came with my Girlfriend for her birthday and it was absolutely stunning! The views were breathtaking and the pod itself was lush! It was so lovely being the only people in the meadow (bar the chickens and ducks!) Barb and Hugh were so lovely and so were the dogs, will recommend to everyone to stay here for some peace and quiet!

We had a lovely stay here for our first holiday together May 1-3, 2021. Barbara and Hugh were perfect hosts (we loved the welcome hamper that included bara brith and locally sourced foods), providing advice about where to go and what to do, the surrounding countryside was beautiful, the pod had everything we needed for a short stay and we really enjoyed evenings with the fire pit and using it as a bbq too. The local pub is within walking distance away, so was perfect for food and a drink, and Aberystwyth is only a short drive away too. Would highly recommend and happily go back too. Myself and my partner are keen camping enthusiasts but we thought we'd give glamping a try. We searched and found several sites across the UK, but all had multiple pods several feet from each other with no privacy at all. We then found Ty Barcud and were so taken by the design, privacy and location of the pod, we booked it immediately for 5 nights. Having arrived at Barb and Hugh's cottage, we received a very warm welcome and our already high expectations of the pod and its surroundings were exceeded somewhat when we saw the location (a brief but lovely walk through a colorful meadow which is a haven for wildlife) and the pod itself, which has clearly been designed to a high specification with the upmost of attention to detail

The view is beautiful, looking down over the hills and valley below, where you can see plenty of red kites in action. The outdoor area is really well thought out and nicely designed and the BBQ/firepit is great to use as the sun goes down. We were left alone to enjoy the tranquility of the pod and its surroundings, but Hugh and Barb were contactable if required and are very friendly people.

The inside of the pod has clearly had a lot of thought put into it, with a very comfortable double-bed (the under-bed storage was very useful for all our bags) and equally comfortable sofa, a kitchen area with everything required and a wet-room style bathroom which I don't imagine too many pods have! To open the doors of the pod first thing in a morning and lay in bed looking out over the hills is a great experience, and you really get the feeling of isolation both in and around the pod.

We genuinely could have stayed there all week without venturing out anywhere, we loved it that much and have talked about it most days since we got back! Thanks Barb and Hugh for creating such a wonderful place to stay and relax and for being so helpful and friendly, we loved every minute of our stay and it gave us the break and the relaxation that we really needed after a busy year. Thanks for also introducing us to your dogs, Jack and Tum, who gave us as warm a welcome as you did :)

Had a refreshing stay and wouldn't have changed anything. Very private and beautiful location. Hosts left us to explore but had some great suggestions.
Accomodation is well equipped, with good storage areas to keep tidy. Also tried out the fire pit and swing chair which was perfect and got some great views over the valley and of the birds.
The food hamper was a really welcome extra touch!
Would recommend!

We have just got back from our short break at the pod. Barb gave us a very warm welcome and showed us around the pod, nothing was too much trouble for her. The local area is stunning with lots of activity and beautiful scenery. The pod is warm and cosy and had everything we needed.
Thank you again for such a lovely stay.

We had such a wonderful stay. It is the most peaceful place to switch off and relax in the countryside, and just listen to the wildlife, sitting in front of the fire pit with marshmallows supplied. Cabin perfect.
Devil's Bridge and kite feeding, make a wonderful day out.
Thanks barb

Our second visit to Ty Barcud and once again we were not disappointed! The pod is just as cosy and comfortable as ever. Hosts Barb and Hugh are so welcoming and keen to help in every way, without intruding on the privacy of their guests. Mid-Wales is a less often visited area, compared with Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons, but we think it is just as beautiful in its own way. Fewer tourists make for a very tranquil and enjoyable holiday.

Wow. What a fantastic place!! Thank you so much for a lovely weekend, just wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was ready and set out for us arriving and Barb gave us a tour and made sure we were okay with dogs and chickens. Showed us where everything was and whether we wanted the WiFi on or not which we said no to! We had a wonderful off-grid weekend, visited places recommended in the welcome book and finding places we hadn't been to before. To be able to turn off the light and see nothing but darkness meant we were able to fully unwind and had the best night's sleep in a long time. Bed was comfy, cabin was cozy and warm and we didn't have any distractions and weren't disturbed by any neighbours or chickens! The welcome basket of breakfast goodies and Welsh cakes was amazing and we had a fried breakfast both mornings we were there. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful weekend away. If anyone is looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with your partner, this is the place to go.

Ty Barcud was absolutely fantastic. Barb was so welcoming and informative on our arrival and politely left us to it for the weekend which is exactly what we wanted. The scenery was breathtaking and the pod was warm and cosy. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, we 100% recommend. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are already planning our next trip to Ty Barcud.

Due to covid we had to re-book our original booking for a year later. It was worth every second waiting. The pod was perfect, the setting was perfect, so private and quiet. We could sit outside for hours just admiring the views. We would absolutely visit again!
Barb and hugh are lovely, friendly people, which just added to the perfect little get away. We would definitely recommend!
Thank you so much Barb and Hugh xx

Warm welcome from Barbara and Hugh. Well equipped. Welcome basket also tea coffee etc.
We were warm and safe even on a couple of really stormy days and nights. Beautiful spot to relax and unwind. Wild flower meadow with butterflies. Red kites overhead. Views across and down the valley. Highly recommended

Wow - what can I say! What an amazing setting for such a privately located little pod! Barbs and Hugh had thought of everything that anyone would need to enjoy their stay, which saved us loading the car up with camping equipment. The pod was situated in it's own grounds with the most amazing views, where you could sit out beside the fire pit, enjoying the view while toasting marshmallows! It was only about 20mins from Aberystwyth, which offers a base for several activities. We didn't get to go on the steam train ride which stopped at Devils Bridge - but this gives us an excuse to return as it is definitely a must!
Our Sat Nav took us an interesting way, through the most narrow lanes ever - good job we didn't bring the campervan!
As we were travelling towards Tenby to continue our holiday, Barbs and Hugh offered places to visit along the way. New Quay was a real jem! We saw many dolphins in the harbour and while on a boat trip, plus a seal pup just days old - a lovely quaint place!
We shall definitely be returning in the very near future

Great Break to End Lockdown.
Have just spent a great four nights at Ty Barcub which met and exceeded our expectations. Its a job to know where to start but the pod accommodation is in beautiful part of Wales and being set alone in its own meadow surrounded by trees makes for a great location and then there are the views out over the Ystwyth valley which extend for miles. You can just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the setting and be amazed by the birdlife on your doorstep Red Kites and Buzzards every day. To have a Fire/BBQ and a glass of wine in your own meadow in the evening is great. Barbara and Hugh have made sure everything is just right for a peaceful break

We have just spent 4 days here (17/11/17) and I have to say this place is beautiful. The cabin is very well thought out and has everything you need for a few days away for life. It's warm and cosy and the bed is super comfy. A great place to use as a base to explorer or to just while away time together.
Would recommend.

This was our first experience of glamping and it will certainly be hard to beat. As per the recommendation ndations in the visitors book we took advantage of some of the places and attractions nearby - Aberystwyth town, Aberaeron harbour, Devil's bridge and the Hafod Estate. It was the perfect escape from the city and lovely to be away from the hustle and bustle.
