What a wonderful place to visit. One of our local museums giving history about the RAF, Spitfires and Hurricanes and all things WWII.
Staff are amazing and the restaurant is very good and affordable. My wife got me tickets for the Spitfire simulator. Only £30. Managed to lift off and land safely with the expert guidance of one of the lovely volunteers. I even flew over my computer generated house. 💯 % recommended. Will be going again and will bring my sons to experience this.

Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting the Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum, a deeply enriching and educational experience that caters well to all ages. For a very reasonable £16 for a family ticket, we explored the rich history and legacy of two of World War II's most iconic aircraft: the Spitfire and the Hurricane.

The museum not only offers an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, and personal stories, but it also provides a tangible connection to history through its well-preserved aircraft. The attention to detail and the informative displays made for an engaging visit, sparking interest and curiosity in both the adults and children in our group.

Additionally, the museum recognizes the contributions of care workers by offering a discount, which is a thoughtful touch that we appreciated. The on-site café provided a pleasant space to reflect on the visit while enjoying some refreshments, and the free parking, including an overflow area just a short walk away, made the entire experience hassle-free and enjoyable.

Overall, the Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum offers great value for a family day out, combining educational content with thoughtful amenities, making it a must-visit for history buffs and families alike.

Interesting museum, great little World War Two gift shop, some fantastic interactive displays for both adults and kids.

Also the fact that it is free is important, as it makes it easier to keep all the younger generation informed about the last World War, not just those who's family can afford the access to pay to visit museums that offer these kind of hands on experiences, as is often the case.

If you can afford to donate, do though. This museum is doing fantastic work.

Lest we forget the sacrifice made by so many.

I've lived in Deal for some years but never visited this attraction. It is very well presented by English Heritage and full of history. Particularly attractive to or those historians specialising in the Roman era in Britain. Richborough was originally by the sea, as becomes obvious from the top of the wooden structure. A must visit for visitors to the area.

Definitely a worthwhile experience with some of the most iconic British legendary war planes! We were met and greeted by extraordinarily friendly staff members, one of which is a local veteran, who actually flew one of those planes... Great spot with two must go museums a couple of steps across each other.

A great little musuem based at an old RAF base used during WW2. Admission is free and the cafe serves good basic cafe food, with inside and outside seating. They have a Spitfire flight simulator which looked really good, but I didn't get a chance to try. Well worth a visit.

Great place for Spitfire and Hurricane enthusiasts and for anyone interested in air battles of WWII. The full size Spitfire and Hurricane alone are worth the visit but there's lots more to see. It's worth spending time looking at the details on display. The staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful.

Went to the museum with my partner who did the spitfire experience whilst I explored the small but wonderful museum. So much history and interesting pieces to view and read about. Entry was free and parking was free right outside the museum. The staff were nice and welcoming. Also visited the cafe next door which was busy but pleasant and offered lots of drink and food options.

What a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. Staffed by a friendly and informative crew of volunteers, this lovely museum is a treasure trove of history. I highly recommend paying for the opportunity to try out the spitfire flight simulator. It was tremendous fun. Free entry to the museum but please be sure to leave a donation to support this great place.

A fascinating and deeply moving museum for all ages. Sited on part of the old WWII RAF Manston airfield which was at the forefront of Britains aerial fight against Germany. There are many extremely interesting artefacts to see but the museum is dominated by both a Spitfire and a Hurricane. Beautiful aircraft. There's also a good souvenir shop and cafe. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. Outside is a poignant memorial garden dedicated to allied air crew. Although free to enter it would be unfair not to make a generous donation to help with the continuation of this museum.

Very well presented information and historical facts. Entrance is by donation, and the two main aircraft are very well presented , the other exhibits show the dedication to which the museum volunteers go to in researching their history.
The Spitfire cafe , attached to the museum, was also very well presented and a great place to get a bite and a drink without breaking the bank.

Excellent free museum with small exhibition. There is a pay to enter hanger here also that costs £5 when I went which has more planes amd a small well stocked model and souvenir shop. Cafe serves good hot food also.

Definitely worth a visit in its own right or if on the way to Broadstairs or Ramsgate.
This small museum has some unique exhibits. The Spitfire and Hurricane head the bill but I thought the smaller show case exhibits were fascinating. It was particularly poignant to read some of the real, human stories associated with some of the exhibits, about actual combatants. Some tragic, some heroic, all touching.
The cafe is also decent, with good options for lunch.

Very small museum but no cost to enter so you can donate as little or much as you like. Would be four stars if it wasn't for the Spitfire Simulator which is a great and value for money experience (£30 for 20-30 mins). Simulator has to be booked in advance.
