Really enjoyed a family trip to the museum. A very very impressive taxidermy collection of very large animals...a bit sad but the specimens were collected many moons ago during the age of exploration.
Lovely activities for children within the museum with a good handling collection.
Children get some accessories to dress up with on arrival should they wish, which was a nice touch.

We had a picnic in the formal gardens which were beautiful bin the late summer. We loved the walled garden especially.

There was a nice woodland walk also and a nice café on site which we enjoyed a cream tea at in the afternoon. Very tasty. Recommend!

Fantastic museum! Visited for the first time and was blown away! Plenty to see and the staff were fantastic. Particularly impressed with the aids available for those on the spectrum. The rucksacks etc at each location meant our son got to really enjoy the experience. Thank you ❤

Great time at the museum, gardens and also the maize maze! Loads to do come rain or shine. Loved the maize and giant air pillows. Loved finding the butterflies throughout the museum. Loved exploring the gardens and seeing the fish. Thank you for another wonderful day out!

Impressive. This is a little gem in thanet. We have now been the museum and it's garden a few times and it always makes us happy. Staff at the entrance and inside are very helpful. This place is HIGHLY recommended for KIDs. Our little ones who are three and one and a half years old enjoyed all the animals in the museum. Also this place runs fun games and activities all week. You should check their website for activity list. Garden is the other attraction and it is very well maintained. There's a secret flower garden in the garden and it is truly amazing. You can have a picnic in the garden and there's also benches and tables setup for this. There is also a cafe outside the museum and one could have food and drinks.

Excellent history of travel and animals from Africa. Very well presented. Can't fault the exhibition for the price. Would have paid three times admission price for what you got. Well worth a visit.

What a fantastic museum for younger children! They provide backpacks for little ones with binoculars and themed learning aids and a whole room of hands-on exhibits. We were there on a bank holiday with traditional Japanese music in one of the rooms. The cafe opposite is super friendly and excellent value but I recommend popping in to book for lunch or tea when you first arrive as it gets very busy.

The Powell-Cotton museum's dioramas are simply amazing and totally worth visiting if you ever get the chance.

Major Percy Horace Gordon Powell-Cotton (1866-1940) established the Powell-Cotton museum at Quex Park in 1896 to house natural history specimens and cultural objects collected on his expeditions to Asia and Africa. He was a pioneer in the way he used dioramas to display his mounted specimens in their natural habitats.

Such a fascinating place. The taxidermy is extraordinary and very surreal. The 'touch museum' is also a great hands on section for everyone especially kids. Highly recommend.

This was amazing, I wasn't expecting much but once we walked in I was blown away about the displays, the pictures won't do it justice as there is something very oddly magical about it. There is tons for kids including a section where you can handle things and there grounds were huge. The house was closed when we went but it didn't effect bus much. There was a nice cafe just outside too.

Photographed a beautiful wedding. Once again the staff were on point, everything went swiftly and as a supplier was well looked after.

Exceeded our expectations, displays are exquisite, fantastic to see so many animals in such a small place.
