Fantastic food, we were really impressed. It was so delicious, I had the beef blade and the jus in particular was incredible. Staff were so helpful and thoughtful catering for my allergies.
Nice wee pub with good beer on tap and great friendly service. We are definitely going back.

A stunning find⚡⚡ We both agree that this is one of the most charming English pubs we've ever visited (and Himself has visited a LOT🤭). We received a very warm welcome and we were squeezed in for Saturday lunch.

The food was absolutely sensational and the chefs are clearly of a very high standard. The gravy was perfect, thick and glossy, the trio of sausages delightful atop tasty crispy bubble and squeak BUT for me the highlight of highlights was the shepherds pie🎉🎉

They used lamb chunks instead of mince, the mash on top was piped and then grilled. It was mouthwatering good and enough for two (or one with leftovers).

The interior is beautiful, a nice combination of old English pub and the great British pop culture (ie. Beatles and Rolling Stones playing, lots of vinyls, James Bond art in the lavatories.

We're already on a waiting list for tomorrow Sunday lunch haha!

Had visited a couple of times previously for lunch on walks but not for a couple of years and when needing somewhere for a family celebration dinner booked based on continued excellent reviews.
We were very happy with our choice. All the food we had (bread with garlic butter, 5 mains and 2 deserts) was excellent and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Good wine and decent Thatchers Gold cider, our dog was also made very welcome.
Wish we lived closer to visit more often - a superb pub with brilliant food and service!

Lovely pub down a country lane in the middle of nowhere. Unsurprisingly, it was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon. Food looked very good and must be recommended, as the restaurant was full. Nice selection of beers. Friendly staff and locals. Plenty of seating inside and outside (under a marquee). Car park and overflow car park.

This is really a fantastic little pub. It was by pure chance me and my partner found this pub, and what a treat it is. This is a lovely little country pub with some nice beers on tap. Seating out the front is good and under cover, aswell as to the side of the pub. The parking is very good, there is parking right next to the pub answell as 50yards down the road.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to have any food there as they were very busy but the food that was coming out looked and smelt great. We will definitely be returning for food.

Stunning pub food. Came as a group of 7 with a toddler and dog, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

We were there for Sunday lunch and with most the group going for roast I had the Irish Stew special and my wife had the Thai Chicken Salad (very spicy, be warned!). All the food was fantastic quality and they brought platters full of veg for the middle of the table.

Great value and great quality, highly recommend.

What a little gem! Been years since I’ve been here but current owners doing an amazing job. So few pubs that have a real country pub feel to them. Proper pub grub done superbly by a chef who clearly cares and has finesse, great menu selection… that blade of beef was stunning. Staff lovely too. We’ll be back very soon!

This pub tacked away into a small road has cosmopolitan menu with the elements of Mediterranean and Asian gastronomy. The decor supports variety of souvenirs from numerous corners of the world. Good collection of art on the walls includes humor and good taste. The service is quick and efficient and as warm as their log fire. The walk around wields was soggy but sunny and the dog liked it.

Loved my Thai salad. Would skip puddings next time. Almost gastro pub quality in an area with stiff competition.

Lucky to get a table for lunch today, had no idea how popular this place is. Best food and service we've had in ages and dog friendly. What a find! Only one issue, how do I move closer?!

What a night..5 friends who have done a lot of walking..South Downs Way...Wayfarers Way etc. Looking for a pub to meet and celebrate a great year of walking. Little did we know we would have the best night of the year courtesy of the wonderful hosts and bar staff ..truly a night of nights..have not laughed so much in a long time..the banter went on all night and in between we had great food and great ales. This is truly a special place. Thank you. It is in the middle of nowhere but well worth seeking out. In the words of Arnie ..I'll be back!!!
