The restaurant is in a pretty village and the restaurant is in the main square. The manageress is very hospitable speaking both French and English and making everybody very welcome. The menu de jour offers a choice of 3 starters and main courses The food was well presented and very good to eat at a fair price.

We will be back there soon and certainly would recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Attentive staff and host always willing to accommodate any requests. Food very good, large portions and very tasty. Reasonable prices. I have always loved this place, you can visit on your own or with friends or man's best friend. You are never rushed and perfectly ok to visit on your own as lots of seating be it a comfy armchair or bench. Don't take my word for it, go for a wine, coffee, lunch or dinner.......you are always welcomed.

Nice staff, warm friendly atmosphere. Food was good and the Kickass beer at 7 or 8% was great. We had a great time as there was a band playing with 3 very good singers playing 70's and 80's songs out the front.

Great little pub/restaurant on the square in pretty Aubeterre. Nice atmosphere and great food. Manager Jill is awesome and she goes the extra mile putting interesting evenings. And the young chef's output is very tasty. Check out the curry evenings and other themed nights.

Went for a fast coffee with friends and decided to stay for lunch. The 3 course meal was fantastic value and simply delicious! Great ambiance and the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend

Hotel de France is the place to be, if you are ever in Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne. The terrace looks out over the tiny village square. The food is delicious! It’s usually a menu with a choice of two different mains, meat or fish. During the summer on the weekends they try and have live music (that’s me on the mic there). They even let me impromptu sing with the band (of course you must be skilled). This seems to be the place everyone leaves their normal homes behind for, to spend their summers here. We meant to only stop over for a day or two as we were heading further south but ended up staying the whole two weeks in this tiny village where anything and everything that’s happening is happening here at Hotel de France. There’s quite the mixture of Dutch, French and British people here. Culture is easy to be found as well as a time you will never forget!

Great place to visit while in Aubeterre. They have a selection of nice drinks and host fun evening "dinner and a show" with surprisingly good bands 👍
