A la Source Restaurant et Café

Amazing restaurant located within a post card view. Food was of high standard with amazing flavour. Staff were very polite and welcoming, 100% worth a visit.

This is JUST the perfect spot. Everything was just perfect.

Absolutely lovely café in a lovely town, with delicious home-baked cakes, including incredible gluten-free options. The owner could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Only the café was open when we went but I would definitely love to visit again and try the restaurant. A real treat!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch on a wet October day. The restaurant was very welcoming and cosy, lunch was super tasty with a small but varied menu. The Cafe Gourmand was particularly good. Service was friendly and not rushed. Will definitely visit again.

Everything was fabulous, roaring log burner, fantastic views, fantastic welcome. Food delicious. Spoke English and French. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

The other day we had lunch with good friends at A la Source Restaurant in lovely Aubeterre sur Dronne, which recently introduced their great and very welcome new concept with a changing seasonal menu and new opening times.
The limited menu has something for every taste bud and even has a good and delicious vegetarian option which is still very unusual in rural France.
The new opening times are absolutely great: A la Source is open when nearly all other restaurants are closed, so a Sunday dinner or an evening out on Mondays are now an option.
A la Source Café, which is opposite, serves coffee, tea, scones etc.
The French and English speaking staff was very welcoming and efficient and the interior is warm and very cosy…….congratulations A la Source, we loved it ! Pimm + Marcel

We have been several times over the last few years and never been disappointed. The food is always very good at a reasonable price, waitresses extremely friendly and there is a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely evening meal here on their balcony, overlooking the village and the river Dronne. Even though it was only early May (2022) it had been 34 degrees during the day, and was still warm in the evening. We had the galettes, which were delicious, and dessert, also excellent. We had a chat with the owner, who we were surprised to find was from New Zealand. All the staff were friendly and efficient, and the place was busy - a sure sign that they were popular with the locals as well as tourists.

Very nice place. Even during rainy weather, nice to sit outside. Very good food. Cosy ambiance.

A wonderful place - lovely service, great food and beautiful view from the terrace. We gobbled up everything so didnt get any pics, but recommend the crepes and the quiche. Tip - if visiting in peak season or a good weather day, get your name in the book for a table, to avoid an 40+ minute wait.

We first ate at Creperie de la Source 2 years ago and had friendly service and a lovely meal. I wondered whether they had continued to be good. I was not disappointed. I think the food was even better this time. The waiting staff were friendly and spoke great French and English. It is small but perfectly formed. Looking forward to going back another year.

This is a wonderful charming place that looks cosy even though it seats many. You can sit outside and enjoy a lovely view over the picturesque village. The food here is great as well, everything seems homemade and is priced very well!
Also, the staff here is extremely friendly, and they speak English :)

We had lunch here today and although we didn't have a reservation we were seated on the upstairs balcony which has a lovely view towards the river Dronne. We had the menu du midi, 3 courses for €16.50 which was very good value. The food was lovely, very tasty and well presented, and they were happy to make some alterations to the dishes to suit our requirements. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and friendly, and helpful towards out friends who do not speak any French. We will definitely go again, but will make a reservation to be certain of a balcony table.

Lovely restaurant in picturesque Aubeterre in Charente run by English family. Great views from balcony over the Dronne. Particularly loved the friendly service and my chicken with.mushrooms in cognac. Great bordeaux rose to accompany.

We were recommended the restaurant by a local and we travelled to Aubeterre. three of us enjoyed the menu du midi @16.50 which we thought was good value and the others had Galette and crepes which were fantastic . English speaking staff were friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices.

What a find, great food, lovely staff, worked so hard, so busy, so bloody hot but kept smiling, oh and I loved those plates 😇😇thanks for a lovely evening. We will be back. ❤
